I think we should change the 'unofficial' second language of the US from Spanish to Norwegian. That way we could attract more Scandanavians and fewer Mexicans.
Thirty years ago I walked into a bank near San Diego, and even as a obvious natural blonde, was greeted and talked to by the teller completely in Spanish until I told her I didn't speak it, much to her surprise.
Around here the illegals think it is their secret code. They are very surprised when you DO answer or comment in spanish.
