"I always knew I was going to make it, even with the navigational fault in the GPS but the main worry was the fuel loss."

I can't wait to find out how much gas he had left in the tanks.

The short answer is: weight. The longer answer is that the aircraft did not require that much control surface area in order to generate adequate control authority.

He must've had a darned good alarm clock! It would've taken a Klaxon horn to wake me up.

Apparently I can't tell the difference between the living of life and the superficial observation of it?

I would say that is kind of an odd statement to make about someone whom you have never met, based on a couple of lines of text.

bert, why would you make a statement like that? Is it because I referenced Ayn Rand (which does tend to bring out some polarized responses in people) or was it because I think "People" magazine and ET are amongst the most banal shredders of valuable time one could ever encounter? Or, was it because I made a statement that reflects my difficulty understanding the mass hysteria surrounding the demise of the unfortunate Princess?

I am 47 years old, and if I died tomorrow, I could not have one complaint that I have missed much in life. I've been that lucky. I enjoy both the living of and superficial observation of life.

What I lack is the ability to superficially observe superficial things and people, which is what all those things I referenced are about. Life is too short.

So I really am curious. Can you explain? Or have I perhaps read more into your response than it really rated?

I regret any inconvenience I may have caused.

I read your statement to mean you preferred reading the meaningless publications to such a great adventure. I reread your statement and understand just the opposite.

My statement was unwarrented.
