While I have the greatest respect and admiration for the young men fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, The Phillipines, etc., for they are certainly the equal of the WW2 generation, the current generation is total can't hold a candle to that generation.

I've tutored a couple thousand kids since I started in 1989 and right now I can say there is only ONE former student of mine serving in Iraq. All the young men, with those few exceptions I've mentioned, just want to get money and get laid. Sorry, but its the truth.

however, you need to be more optimistic about this generation. they are not the potheads of the 60's, they are more conservative in ways, and i believe religion plays a bigger role in their life than the baby boomers. the generation that fought WWII had their work cut out for them in that they also faced the great depression and then after WWII communism. these guys fighting in Iraq are of this generation and are doing a superb job. lets be optimistic about america and the future.
