It's just that I've got to bear down for a Ph.D. comprehensive exam I'm taking on February 19 and 21.

Thank you, however, just passing this exam will not make a doctor, not yet. This will just move me into the last big phase of doctoral work--the dissertation. I've done all the course work, I've got all the languages, and soon, I hope, I will have completed both comprehensive exams (NT/Greek and OT/Hebrew). But the dissertation awaits.

BTW, franksolich, since I will be largely FreeRepublic-free for the next couple weeks, could you please take me off your Norway Ping List for now?
