Thank you for providing the documentation. I heard Boxer say this and knew it was false (and her smugness in stating her lie was indeed infuriating) and meant to look up the proof but then got sidetracked by the tantalizing developments in the Oil for Food Scandal.
She completely disgraced herself (as usual).
I was pleased to see Kay Bailey Hutchison and Tom DeLay on Fox and Friends this morning (separate segments) both say Boxer crossed the line and was inappropriate.
You're welcome!
that's the function of democrat-hollywood movies, they replace reality and history.
I think she'll be the lone voter against Condi.
My pleasure. When I think of what lurks within the empty caverns of her skull, I get SCARED, VERY SCARED!
---So, we're fighting a war to enforce UN resolutions?
That's too bad, I'd like to see us totally out of the UN, but doing their work and enforcing their policies won't get us there. ---
Not exactly...
GHW Bush launched a war with Iraq in 1990 to free Kuwait. When we had thumped Saddam into submission, GHWB made the mistake of allowing the UN to define the terms of surrender. He did that to make it more multi-lateral and not a US vs Iraq scenario which he believed would cause friction in the Middle East.
Once that was done, the UN had authority to monitor the cease fire. However, the US did hold a right to resume the war if it felt any conditions were breached. That right never went away, however, Clinton ignored it for the most part with small exceptions for high-level bombing.
GWB, upon taking the white house, had the authority to resume the war at any time because Saddam had breached numerous provisions of the cease fire. He went to the UN and asked them to give Saddam an ultimatum which they did, and which Saddam told them to stuff. The rest is history.
For Boxer to ignore all of that history and pretend it was "only about WMD" is ludicrous, but the Dems seem bound to embarrass themselves with it.
You captured her as if you were a master of the arts! ;-)
Oh man, I love that!
Thanks, I appreciate the ping.
Oh please. Boxer acts beyond the pale and you decide to blame the Republicans?
That is ridiculous.
The Republicans did fine, Rice is not a baby who needed her hand held and she did well. The woman is going to be Secretary of State and will be dealing with worse than Barbie Boxer.
As it happened, Republicans did smack the dems, Dodd, Kerry and Boxer, in particular, around a bit, so get a grip.
"BOXER: Well, you should read what we voted on when we voted to support the war, which I did not, but most of my colleagues did. It was WMD, period. That was the reason and the causation for that, you know, particular vote."
Iraq was known to have used WMD on Iran and even Iraq's own citizens. Saddam refused to let the UN confirm there weren't any WMD left in Iraq. He thwarted efforts to prove his WMD program was no longer active for over 10 years. What choice did we have.
Let's use Boxer's own reasoning in this analogy. Back in 1969 Manson's family murdered Sharon Tate and several others. They suspected the Manson family but did not have the weapon. They conducted searches on the ranch they were living on at the time and didn't find the pistol used at the Tate residence. Using her reasoning you should have just left the Manson family alone because you didn't find what you were looking for.
Brain dead Boxer obviously believes you need a smoking gun to do what should have been done years ago when Saddam was using WMD against his enemies. I guess she wants more 9/11s so she can spew her venom against President Bush for not doing more to protect the US. Inaction in the past only empowered the terrorists to become more brash in their attacks against innocent civilians. 3000 victims are not enough to satiate the bloodlust Boxer and the other loons obviously enjoy, because if they did not get the point driven home by 9/11, they never will.
lol
That marriage ended (I'm going by memory) about two years ago or so.
that's what people with no honor do when they can't overwhelm you with bullsh!t.
