Michael Savage challenged by editor of THANK YOU, PRESIDENT BUSH
12/7/2004 | Rod D. Martin

Posted on 12/07/2004 12:51:20 PM PST by rdmartinjd

An Open Letter to Michael Savage from the editor of Thank You, President Bush:

Dear Dr. Savage,

While you have always placed your conservative principles over partisan politics -- a trait which all conservatives should emulate -- it is increasingly clear that you have lost your way. Ever since the election you have done nothing but criticize the president. Whether it's his choice of cabinet nominees, his second term domestic priorities, or his escalation of the offensive operation in Iraq, you have incessantly attacked the man and often for no good reason. It seems as if you have begun to prioritize your increasingly shrill anti-partisan outlook over your erstwhile conservative ideals.

Moreover, you've taken to disparaging all others who disagree with you. In addition to your token swipes at fellow radio personalities Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, last week you lambasted unnamed "bloggers" who allegedly had the audacity to criticize you from their website blogs but lacked the courage to come on your show to debate you.

While this bravado about cowardly bloggers may be no more than bluster, if it's a sparring partner that you really want, I am more than willing to accept your challenge.

Whether it's the appointment of the superbly qualified Condi Rice as secretary of state or the nature of the president's powerfully free market, forward-thinking economic policies, I'm happy to make the case that President Bush is being true to his word and preparing for a very conservative second term. Bush -- like every man who has held the office before him -- is not perfect, but he is a president of whom conservatives can and ought be proud.

You should have already received a written notice of this offer from my publicist. I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,

Rod D. Martin

Rod D. Martin, a former policy director to Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, is the founder and chairman of Vanguard PAC, a member of the Board of Governors of the Council for National Policy (CNP), and Vice President of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA). He has appeared as a guest on Fox News and countless other television and talk radio programs; and he is the editor and co-author of Thank You, President Bush: Reflections on the War on Terror, Defense of the Family, and Revival of the Economy.

Savage is awesome, and he is willing to turn the ship around after thinking things through. Remember when he initially sided with the greens on oil drilling in ANWR, buying their argument that the "pristine" nature of the frozen north was a crucial value in itself (i.e. that not even the smallest environmental impact could be justified by national interest)? Then a couple of months later he was blasting the greens for their stupidity on ANWR. Yay Savage. Give the man a chance. He has challenged those who disagree to come on his show. An eminently qualified personage has taken up the challenge. So when is the date?

Michael is going on about rap today. Can't disagree with him there. However, as for Condi, early in the Bush administration I remember him making all sorts of comments about her lack of qualifications.

Savage doesn't hide that fact that he is a Jew. He certainly isn't a Jew baiter. I can't imagine where you came up with that line of reasoning. Haven't you heard him talking about his childhood in a Jewish family? It's very interesting.
He does stir the pot in the conservative camp, rightly so.
There isn't anything wrong with critizing much of what the President has done. From my view point the President is much too moderate on financial issues.

Nothing like using a couple of radical left sites to buttress your position. The Southern Poverty Law Center is about as far left as you can go.
Try to come up with some better sites.

Savage was the first to air the ads of the Swift Boats, and that helped Bush win the election. He knew Kerry would be a disaster, and said so.

One reason he is hated so much, is that he dares to go against Bush's open border policy. Savage has finally done what many of us has done - given up thinking that America has a future. Well it has a Mexican future, that's for sure. I think Savage knows it and doesn't care who he insults. Neither do I.

Look, moron, it does not matter who reports what Weiner in fact says. His documented quotations speak for themselves. I have heard him calls Jews "corned-beef eaters" and "Uncle Hymie" and "Curly-haired devils out of New York City." He even referred to a Jewish person as an "untermensch"- a "subhuman"- the rhetoric used by Josef Goebbels. I suppose if he calls a Jew a "kike" it does not matter if reported by the liberal press? It is a shame that conservative media will not report his long history of ethnic derision of Jews.

Weiner never mentions that he is Jewish. Not once. Want proof? Consider this exchange between Weiner and O'Reilly on the O'Reilly Factor:

O'REILLY: I don't see it quite the way you do, but I'll get to that in a minute.

Now you're not a churchgoing guy. That was another thing that caught my ear as I was riding around.

SAVAGE: Not at all.

O'REILLY: You don't go to church. You're not a real strong God guy. So why are you so...

SAVAGE: Wait, wait. No, no. Bill -- Bill -- Bill, I'm a very strong God-believing man. I just don't go to houses of worship, except maybe once or twice a year, because whether you -- well, whether people accept it or not, I am in touch with God all day long.

O'REILLY: All right. That's fine. That's your belief.

SAVAGE: I talk to God.

Even O'Reilly believes Savage is Christian! And did Savage correct O'Reilly's mistake? Not at all. He did NOT admit that he is Jewish and does not attend church. Rather, Savage was deliberately vague by referring to "houses of worship" rather than a "synagogue."

Look, Weiner holds himself out as a Christian so he will not alienate his demographic. It is not possible to scapegoat liberal Jews as "Red Diaper Doper Babies" if people knew you were Jewish.

If you listen to Savage very much you will him discuss his position that there are various avenues to heaven other than through Jesus. I don't agree at all but I know he frequently speaks of his Jewish heritage. He doesn't claim to be a Christian.
Why do you think a conservative Jew can't refer to liberal Jews as Red Diaper Doper Babies? He does it frequently. Are you also saying that a conservative audience would not accept a Jew radio host? Does that also apply to black radio talent.

Savage is a bitter man who champions nothing but denigrates everything. He resents the administration's "neglect" of him and knocks the other talkshow hosts. His program is absolutely devoid of substance....it has become just a Bush-hating show. I believe it stems from the fact that no one takes him seriously anymore. Even Hannity knocked him as just an entertainer...nothing substantial.

You are 100% correct. Weiner is bitter and resentful that he has been so marginalized by his conservative brethren. O'Reilly calls him a "bomb thrower" and the only people who will come on his show are those pitching a book. He resents being dismissed as an "entertainer," but that is what he is. He will say anything to increase his ratings. He conceals his real name to pretend he is not Jewish. He was a herbalist selling worthless powders; now he is a charlatan selling outrage and anger.

I have heard Weiner state that there are different avenues to god, but he never speaks of his heritage. All he will say on the subject is that he is the "son of immigrants." When his mother died recently, he referred to her as "mother savage." Why will he not even admit that his real name is "Weiner"? I have heard him- on 3 occasions- read newspaper articles about him on the air, and when the article mentioned that he was Jewish, Weiner deliberately skipped over that part or omitted the "Jewish" reference.

How can you explain that his radio colleague, O'Reilly, referred to his not going to "church" instead of not going to a "synagogue"? How come O'Reilly believes that Savage is Christian? Why didn't Savage correct him?

Want more proof that Weiner conceals his Judaism? Here is part of the transcript when Savage appeared on the "Hannity and Colmes" show last year when he was pitching his latest book:

COLMES: I have a concern about some things I have read about you and have heard tapes of you say-
SAVAGE: Good-
COLMES: referring to Madeleine Albright as "Madame Brisket," talking about Joe Lieberman "throwing his bagel into the ring"-
SAVAGE: yes-
COLMES: referring to ACLU attorney, the mythical, "Mark Nobody-berg." There are some people who might infer anti-Semitism from those comments. Can you put that in a context that makes sense?
SAVAGE: Yes, I'd be very happy to. There's no greater supporter of Israel and the Jewish people than the man you are looking at, number 1. And number 2, I am proud to tell you that both I and my children would have qualified for admission to Auschwitz.
COLMES: Well, I understand what you are saying, but can you understand why some people might be upset by those statements?
SAVAGE: They should be upset- they should be upset that people of Jewish backgrounds don't seem to get it. They still back liberal causes when liberalism threatens their survival-

When Hannity accused Savage of making anti-semitic remarks, Savage could have said publicly that he himself was a Jew which would have been his best defense to that accusation. Instead, he beats around the bush by claiming that he would have been "qualified for Auschwitz." What the hell does that mean? Gypsies, communists, and homosexuals were "qualified for Auschwitz" too. The fact is that Weiner will not directly say that he is a Jew.

Normally, I would not care less if a person admits that he is a Jew. It is none of my damn business. The problem is that Weiner stops at nothing to finger all the Jews among the liberals with his insinuations that this liberal is a "corned-beef eater" or he comes from "Brooklyn" or he has "curly-hair" or has a "hooked-nose." Just imagine the outrage were Weiner to refer to a black liberal's "kinky hair" or "big lips." These are racist stereotypes.

It is for this reason that Weiner is dismissed by serious people.

Don't give me this we will have to agree to disagree crap. Explain to me the facts I have presented. Why would Savage not say to Hannity that "I am Jewish" instead of I am "qualified for admission to Auschwitz"? Unless you can explain that as well as why O'Reilly is under the impression that Savage is Christian, I have proven my point.

I am a student of Weiner. I know his antics very well. There are many decent conservative commentators, but Savage is a fraud.

Try calling his stupid show... He hangs up and ridicules anyone BEFORE a point can be made. He is useless. Like JUNK FOOD that is only empty calories, his show is JUNK RADIO, empty noise, nothing nutritious or of value can be gained by listening to that very savage and rude lunatic. He ought to be getting fitted for a jacket with wrap-around sleeves.

Good luck with this. He's new in Chicago as of November. I called the jerk off's show on Tuesday (12/07) to challenge his constant assertion that he is the "only one supporting the troops" yet he sees fit to talk about his "dark vision" of the last helicopter out of Baghdad. He posed an illogical question to me, I hesitated to THINK about what he asked and he hung up on me and told me to "eat some Wheaties or fish oil." It was clear to me then, as a new listener (already former), that he is just trying to sell his stupid book and other crap he has for sale. He could tell I was going to make a point that contradicts his asinine opinion and instead of an intelligent discussion, he framed a question to me using the bad logic called "begging the question." I can't answer yes or no when I do not agree with his faulty premise. He SCREAMED AT ME, then repeated his question. When I said "Ah..." CLICK, he hung up. What a blow hard! I don't listen anymore. He has nothing to offer unless you like to listen to an insane person struggle with reality. I hope he goes away soon. I have a "dark vision" of him being replaced by Teri O'Brien's local show, or having Sean Hannity on at 5:00 p.m. instead.

O.K.. From what I have seen of your posts I can't tell if you are angry at Savage because he is a Jew or because he doesn't run around waving a flag that says I am a Jew. I think you are angry that he is a Jew and you just hate Jews.
What do you think the statement about being qualified for admission to Auschwitz means? It means," I'm a Jew."
Do you need to be hit over the head with a timber to get your brain engaged or do you only imagine that happens when you have a white sheet and hood on for a get together.
I think your hatred for Savage, maybe all Jews, is showing you to be raving jack ass with a racist bit in your mouth.
This may surpise you but conservatism doesn't embrace racism. That is for the fringe elements of mankind, e.g. communism, nazism, and radical liberalism. Take your pick.
