they will understand why we can do more for them than the GOP can. The GOP doesn't help them

My Dad, raised in OK and TX during the depression, taught me that if someone was weak and needed a hand, that it was my responsibility, as a good neighbor, to lend a hand, that it was my job, not the government's job. He said the only thing government ever gave away was other people's money-taken by force. Is that what your screen name is about?

He also taught me that I should always strive to be a person more worthy of the respect than compassion of others.

The DUers are upset because these proud midwesterners don't want to sellout their principles for handouts.

Pretty much. I mostly just read the forums on the internet and don't often post. You are only the second person from any forum to comment on my screen name.

Expromissor is a real estate term that is not even listed in most dictionaries. An expromissor is someone who performs an act of expromission... That is the act of binding oneself for another's debt and thereby releasing him from the obligation of that debt.

I don't appreciate the government's "binding me to another's debt" without my consent, so I just added the "ex" prefix to make a subtle statement which you astutely picked up on.

Your father sounds like a wise fellow. :-)
