This is what the article says:
...Kerry said the last time he heard from Reeve was on Saturday, when the actor left a message on his cellphone
ON SATURDAY, WHEN THE ACTOR LEFT A MESSAGE ON HIS CELLPHONE.
It doesn't say, "disclaimer, Reeve may have left the message Fri. nite."
Others are not forcing facts, you are. It is pure speculation on your part that Reeve may have made the call other than Saturday.
ON SATURDAY, WHEN THE ACTOR LEFT A MESSAGE ON HIS CELLPHONE.
Wow you really want to niggle on this point. Given the state of journalism today does it occur to you that the absence of quotation marks around anything Kerry said that definitively states that Reeve called on Saturday might give you pause? Could the writer be paraphrasing and misquoting? Does that ever happen?
You don't have a statement from Kerry so you don't have a strong case for dismissing Friday. Could be Friday and could be Saturday. But here's what you need to grasp: either way Reeve still could have made the call that Kerry claims he heard on his voicemail. You want so badly to catch Kerry in this lie that you are pulling the net early. Maybe Kerry did lie but you simply don't have the goods yet.
