Diagnosis
Oral, and skin infections are usually diagnosed by appearance and symptoms. Lab tests are usually performed if the infection does not clear up after treatment.
If a person with thrush has problems swallowing (food gets stuck) and/or has bad chest pain, he or she may also have esophageal infection. If symptoms do not improve with treatment, or if someone has problems swallowing but does not have thrush, an endoscopy is usually performed. This is when a doctor uses a small tube to look into the esophagus.
Systemic candidiasis is very difficult to diagnose. Candida in the blood may come from a local infection (like the mouth or site of a catheter) as well as from infection of internal organs. Candida may only briefly be present in the blood when an internal organ is infected, therefore a blood test result is not always reliable.
Don't think someone would be making "upbeat phone calls" (not putting C.Reeves down here ,may he rest in peace)
Kerry's wife is DANGEROUS. A vote for John is a vote for Theresa as First Lady.
They're also called pressure wounds...more technical names for bed sores.
I just looked it up...they're also called "pressure ulcers".
DaveyJay, meet DaveyJones.
Tonight you sleep with the fishes.
Kerry lied during Vietnam, he lied about his service, he lied about his senate record, and he lies about his plans.
He has no plans, and when asked about them, he merely says "I have a plan. Vote for me and you'll find out what it is."
And Kerry on his windboard, his snowboard, and his 5000 dollar minimum base priced mountainbike is just SO 'man of the downtrodden', right?
Dubya has a ranch and actually does the work on it HIMSELF.
You are right, this site is for conservatives.
You obviously are NOT a conservative.
sKerry must have been eating some of those stale, Haight-Ashberry Magic Chocolate Chip Cookies left over from the late sixties/early seventies.
The problem with Kerry is not so much that he is a bad liar (it is good that he is bad), it is that he is a compulsive and habitual liar, and does it without a second thought. That is a disturbing quality in a president. When Kerry finds it convenient, or is in a jam, his first instinct, rather hard wired, will be to lie. How anyone could consider this man fit for office, whatever their ideology, escapes me.
This is what the article says:
...Kerry said the last time he heard from Reeve was on Saturday, when the actor left a message on his cellphone
ON SATURDAY, WHEN THE ACTOR LEFT A MESSAGE ON HIS CELLPHONE.
It doesn't say, "disclaimer, Reeve may have left the message Fri. nite."
Others are not forcing facts, you are. It is pure speculation on your part that Reeve may have made the call other than Saturday.

Kerry said the actor left him a long voicemail on Saturday thanking him for campaigning in support of curing conditions such as his. Kerry said he was "really blown away" to learn of Mr. Reeve's death so shortly after the call."

"Kerry on Monday said he was "really blown away" when he received a cell phone message from Reeve on Saturday thanking him for promoting embryonic stem cell research during the debate, according to USA Today (Oldenburg, USA Today, 10/12).

"Kerry, who knew the "Superman" actor for about 15 years through family and dedication to the same causes, said Reeve left him a long voice mail on Saturday thanking him for campaigning on the possibilities of a cure for conditions like his"

ON SATURDAY, WHEN THE ACTOR LEFT A MESSAGE ON HIS CELLPHONE.
Wow you really want to niggle on this point. Given the state of journalism today does it occur to you that the absence of quotation marks around anything Kerry said that definitively states that Reeve called on Saturday might give you pause? Could the writer be paraphrasing and misquoting? Does that ever happen?
You don't have a statement from Kerry so you don't have a strong case for dismissing Friday. Could be Friday and could be Saturday. But here's what you need to grasp: either way Reeve still could have made the call that Kerry claims he heard on his voicemail. You want so badly to catch Kerry in this lie that you are pulling the net early. Maybe Kerry did lie but you simply don't have the goods yet.
Cheers
GOOD CATCH!
Pity. Sad. Annoying.
Please see Post #253.
This story started with Kerry in a coma on Thursday which would have certainly made the phone call impossible. But that part of the story is false and now you and other posters are grasping at whatever you can find to fit the "Kerry lied" scenario. You are acting like Dan Rather. You need more than you've given to make this case. I'm not saying Kerry didn't lie, I'm saying it's quite possible he didn't. Try and grasp that distinction. If you've got something else in the way of evidence from a first-hand source who observed Christopher Reeve on Friday and Saturday by all means let me know. Then you would have something besides redundant speculation.
Try to get a handle on this. You've accused freepers of being tinfoilers on this thread for discussing the articles that they've read.
You are the one speculating on what the articles 'could really mean'. Now how is it that you accuse the majority on this thread of being "tinfoilers" and you're not?
