Call me crazy but I feel that Kerry had lost this election before the debate tonight and none of these debates will matter. I really don't think the debates are watched by that many people who are undecided. Most of the people that will watch are the ones like us who are already certain of who we will be voting for. All Kerry proved tonight is that he is good at debating and sounds exactly like a person who has been a senator for 20 years would sound. I liken President Bush to someone like me who would have to get up there and answer loaded questions. BOth started off well but it seemed like the President started to stumble a little in the middle. But it really made no difference to me. It didn't change my vote or of anyone I know that will be watching. I know of NO undecided voters that will be watching.

I agree with both of you. I did not watch the debate, but watching the commentators and reading the debate threads here, it appears as though many think Kerry came off as more articulate. So what? What a man says and what a man does are two vastly different things, especially with Kerry.

As I stated, I didn't listen to the debates, but I'll just betcha W's position never changed.

It isn't that the debates won't make much difference, but that this debate will make NO difference. Even if you conclude Kerry won (and I can "win" any debate by prepared lying like he did), the fact that the entire debate was on foreign policy made those that tuned in turn the station. Hell, I was getting bored with the subjects being discussed, at least to some extent.

The so-called undecideds are that way not because of Iraq or foreign policy. All those to whom that is a big issue have made up their mind.

I agree with the original post. Any negativity from this BS is absurd, and likely from the same people that thought Bush was sunk in June; that Rove had screwed up big time, etc.

By tomorrow, the focus will be on some mistake or misstatement by Kerry, not Bush. Mark my words.

I think it would be fair to say that no one here is going to change their mind based upon a televised debate. But most folks aren't here.

Speaking of folks, I really wish the President would stop referring to bloodthirsty terrorists as a "group of folks."
