THE POWER OF THE BLOGOSPHERE: THE SEAL TRACKERS

This morning, I perused this USS Diodon web site again and found a brand new post in their Guest Book listing the URL of a message board thread on Freerepublic.com, which asked the same questions I had of Mr. Majied's authenticity.   Ah-hah!   I was stunned when I found more than 400 entries in this message thread....including one (#180) that outlined what I had been hoping to do...talk to Mr. Majied.  It was stamped Sunday the 12th at 2:05 PM PDT by "elfman":

Is the man going up on the wall of shame now? since he repeatedly claimed to be a seal in phone conversations?

I don't know the answer to that, but I would guess it depends on how much interest there is in following up on his actual claim to others that asked and AP's "trustworthy" reportage.

I don't care as much about this dopey fake SEAL, as I do about the AP accepting his clearly bogus "five years as a SEAL in Viet Nam" story without fact checking.

And worse, when suspicions were raised to them, they told us to shove it, they were standing by their story, based on the word of the lying fake SEAL.

To me, the real story is the AP's use of obvious liars to fit their bias in a story.

At least, with the power of FR, we were able to "out" the lying dirt bag in a few days. Compare that to Dan Rather's lying Viet Nam vets horror story special from 1988. Those lies stood unchallenged for years, pre-internet.

I have a feeling the AP won't be ignoring Free Republic anymore.

They got slapped hard twice in a week by Free Republic, plus they are aware of our role in busting Dan Rather's forged memos.

But can you get a dinosaur's attention, even with hard slaps?

Well, they got a judge to "order" the Pentagon to give them all the remaining records regarding Bush's TANG service.

But, while they got that, the Pentagon was nice enough to supply US with a smack-in-the-face quote for the Democrats:

"Route concluded that there was no justification for looking further into the decisions to award the medals or the anti-war activities.

"Conducting any additional review regarding events that took place over 30 years ago would not be productive," he wrote. "The passage of time would make reconstruction of the facts and circumstances unreliable, and would not allow the information gathered to be considered in the context of the time in which the events took place.

If the Dems want to take THAT quote and defend Kerry with it, I see no reason we can't use it to defend Bush.

BTW, I love the "the Bush administration is slow in turning over records" diatribe; the PENTAGON is in charge of those records, not the White House.

And I have no doubt that Bush knows full well what is in those documents and isn't the least bit worried about it; in fact, I suspect something maybe be "found" could very well vindicate Bush from these trumped-up accuastions.

Hey folks, they corrected the obvious lie about Majiid being a SEAL, but they left intact the smears from Majiid against President Bush (e.g. "playboy", etc.) - please write Elliot(sp?) Minor and ask him to verify that Majiid had any knowledge of President Bush...
