It's still a free country last I checked and this man is allowed to counter protest if he wishes. There is not one allegation that he has ever provoked anything except his mere presence.
Completely unacceptable to then attack the man or his daughter for standing there and the union better straighten up.
If he was just standing there, you are right. But I know lots of people who intentionally provoke responses and then act all surproised indignant when someone actually responds to their provocations. Like one of your buddies here. And experience and common sense teach that people don't repeatedly find themselves in these kinds of situations through no fault of their own.
