Look, Rather, Barnes and Burkett are all Texas homeboys ~ all are Democrats ~ no doubt they got together and conspired to do this.
The story has been under development for at least 4 years, and probably longer!
I wouldn't trust anybody finding excuses for Rather.

innocent mistake and no one is accusing Dan Rather of some sort of "conspiracy,"He really, really wanted Gore to win in 2000, and his contract with CBS runs out in 2006. What's he got to lose? He thought he could pull it off.
Americans aren't stupid enough to believe there's no bias here. C'mon!
does Bill O'Reilly know what Dan Rather was thinking when he put forged documents on the air?
Why care what he thinks? The man is a centrist on everything. He has no core ideals.
What are the odds that Dan Rather would have accepted such patently phony documents from, say, the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth?
Why hasn't 60 minutes done a special on those fine men? No wonder CBS is on it's way out. It's become skank TV.

Yep! "Baghdad-Bob" is NOT a victim of a hoax!
In the faked memos he got exactly what he was looking for (4-5 yrs digging,) he thought he had the raw meat, and he used it shrewdly trying to manipulate the election and take down a sitting President!!

Our gals are the best. We have Laura Ingraham, Ann coulter, Monica Crowley to name just a few.
Last night on the "O' Reilly Factor" Laura kicked the big O's ass. I just e-mailed O' Reilly and told him that laura ate his lunch last night and that he has lost most of his conservative audience and has himself to blame.

Laura has a whole lot of new listeners this morning, I'm sure! Laura does seem to get her point across a lot better than Ann. Ann tends to be overly sarcastic and snippy and that tends to diminish her message. Laura is cool under fire and very intelligent! Don't get me wrong, I love Ann too. ...they just have different styles and I feel Laura is more effective.
That's how I feel, so that must be the fact.
(That is the new DNCBS standard, right?)
