Bush is not my ideal conservative, but when one finally comes along, I want there still to be an America for him/her to be president of. I also predict that GWB will be a much more conservative 'lame duck' president in his second term.

Disarmed Libya of its Chemical, Nuclear, and biological WMD's without bribes or bloodshed

Won an agreement that U.S. Navy sailors may now freely board thousands of commercial ships in international waters to search for weapons of mass destruction under a landmark pact between the United States and Liberia, the world's No. 2 shipping registry (signed Feb 11, 2004), and Panama 5/10/2004 http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/11/international/americas/11ship.html).

My hope is to change the culture from one that has said, if it feels good, do it; if you've got a problem, blame somebody else -- to one in which every single American understands that he or she are responsible for the decisions that you make; you're responsible for loving your children with all your heart and all your soul; you're responsible for being involved with the quality of the education of your children; you're responsible for making sure the community in which you live is safe; you're responsible for loving your neighbor, just like you would like to be loved yourself. Let me see if I understand this . . .

I shouldn't vote for Bush because he's not conservative enough?

Serious conservatives should deny their votes to Bush. "When it comes to choosing a president, results matter," the president says. So true. A Kerry victory would likely be bad for the cause of individual liberty and limited government. But based on the results of his presidency, a Bush victory would be catastrophic. Conservatives should choose principle over power.

Correction: a Kerry victory would spell DEATH to individual liberty and government spending would wildly spiral out of control.

A Kerry victory would mean France gets veto power if we decide that we need to defend our freedom.

A Kerry victory means the end of our world class health care system.

A Kerry victory means we go back to the Clinton way of treating terrorists: more sensitively, there there, you really don't want to hurt anyone do you?

Dude, I AM choosing principle over power. Power is the only thing Kerry wants. It is evidenced in that he will take both sides of every issue to get it. The man stands for NOTHING!

yes the author makes some (fairly tired) valid criticisms of bush's first four years... but totally fails in providing any valid justification for voting for kerry.

Is Kerry really likely to initiate more unnecessary wars, threaten more civil liberties and waste more tax dollars?

Wasting dollars? Undoubtedly.. How about National Health Care.. Initiate wars? Sure! Carter managed to endanger us all, through his actions, for generations beyond his "service". And lastly, civil liberties? How about .. Hate Crimes Law and instituting the Fairness Doctrine on radio and special rights laws and 2nd Amendment restrictions and outlawing vouchers and so on

Theres bad , and theres worse. Nothing about Kerry is "better".

Bandow is an ideologue libertarian. He served as special assistant to President Ronald Reagan in the early 1980's, left disillusioned, and later wrote how that administration had betrayed its promise of less government and lower taxes.

He is a Ron Paul type , and he makes some valid points, but they are not in context with real life, IMO.

Thyere worth hearing and rebuking, though. You dont gots to go around trying to have everything unpleasant banned. It aint a good thing to do, ..

I stopped reading after this Clintonite talking point "But the big-spending Bush administration and GOP Congress have turned a 10-year budget surplus once estimated at $5.6 trillion into an estimated $5 trillion flood of red ink"

Since when do we count "projected surpluses" as written in stone or believable?
