Welcome to the 272nd issue. Many thanks for all the great topics, thanks to all who posted them and/or pinged me about them.
Also, my heartfelt thanks to all those on the GGG list, and everywhere else on FR, who have been paying for me and everyone else who hasn't contributed, or hasn't contributed much. You've been doing a great job, much better than I have done.
The FReepathon has begun. I've been too busy spending my money on soft drinks and precooked bacon, I mean, I've been ass deep in alligators financially for a while, but despite the wintry economic climate here in Michigan, I've been doing better these past few months. So, check this out: Hey, I don't even drink, even on Friday, even after the Sun goes down, and yet, I just made my (blush) second-ever or perhaps third-ever contribution, and knocked Michigan all the way up to #8 (was #35 or something) here in the early going. :') [Woo hoo!! Our Fourth QTR 09 FReepathon is now underway!!] I was the second contributor from Michigan. I challenge all my fellow Michiganders (Michiganians is a term designed by a bureaucracy in its never-ending search for ways to waste money) to keep our state at #8, or higher! And of course, this kinda throws down the gauntlet to everyone on the GGG list who do *not* live in Michigan. As Happy Gilmore said, "talk about your all-time backfires". ;')
We've had some new folks join the GGG lists (one FReeper even joined the Digest version, I think that's the first time in a couple of years that's happened, but I digress in another of a long series of parentheticals), bringing our total up to 728. If we could *average* just five bucks a head -- that's support for three months of commercial-free conservative website and news concentrator -- we on Gods, Graves, Glyphs would make a good-sized dent -- $3,640 -- in the goal -- about $75,990. Over the six or so years I've been active here (and there are still plenty around who would consider me a newbie) I've generally been a FReeploader, that is, just getting by on my looks, and I've never had a modeling career, so...
I donated $10 once, maybe twice before, and due to niceties like living indoors and eating every day, and paying down my ill-gotten debts, I've previously been confined to feeling remorse at having not carried my share of the load. Tonight I kicked in $100, which is of a similar effect to a dollar a day. That means, assuming no one else on the GGG list has contributed so far, the rest of us need kick in an average of a mere $4.88 for us to hit $3,640. That's $4.88 for 90 days of FR.
To be a little less eloquent, if that's possible, IMHO it's a travesty that it takes two months for the many thousands of us here on FR to raise the quarterlys, leaving only a month off before it all starts again. I can appreciate that some have gotten fed up from time to time with some fellow FReepers -- believe me, I can (hint hint) -- and have basically backed off in despair or disgust from the site as a whole, and I can definitely understand financial necessity. But I have yet to see anything on the web which compares with FR -- at least for conservatives. And I'm sure most of you have made the same observation. Unlike some libtard sites and organizations we can all name, FreeRepublic isn't on the public dole, nor does it take commercial advertising, nor does it have some big fat filthy rich totalitarian sugar daddy footing the bills.
So, please, as JimRob sez, "let's get 'er done."

Again, thanks to the FR management team, we can now add keywords -- godsgravesglyphs for example -- to our list of subscriptions. During the week I added a link for that capability to the standard ping messages in all my ping lists (well, all but one). Probably should add it to this template to, doncha think?
