Welcome to the 184th issue. Thanks Blam for once more posting a ton of stuff, and to everyone who posted topics and replies. It has been a lively week in that regard, despite a somewhat smaller number of topics.
The big story is the Chinese fossil skull find, yet uncharacteristically only two topics seem to have been posted about it. I'll predict at least one more in the coming week or two.
Also worth noting is how many of the stories involve genetic sequencing. I'll predict that by the end of 2008, fully one third of the articles we're able to find online and post for GGG topics will involve genetic sequencing. That is not a good thing, in my view, but obviously that's the current terra incognita. Also, it's pretty cheap and easy, just like the women of Troy. Oh, sorry. A lab, plus some protective handware, surgical masks, and a portable cooler and some ziplock bags -- as opposed to visas, passports, airline tickets, learning a language, hiring shiftless thieving locals, being unable to take home anything for study...
Visit the Free Republic Memorial Wall -- a history-related feature of FR.
Defeat Hillary -- first for the White House, then for reelection to the Senate.
