Welcome to the 281st issue. Last week there seemed to be something really wrong (again) with the topic list coming off the site. I also had an annoying little typo in one of my search and replaces by which I format the Digest items. Fixed that. But the topic number "to" should have been 2392109. I believe. Maybe not. I'm going to learn to live without knowing for sure. Some of the topics for this week were a bit elderly, having emerged from the vast repository that is the FRchives.

Well wasn't *that* a great week? I had such a good week, I started up a forum on Delphi just to have a place to relax.

This week I've been cyber-screamed at, called a Romney-basher, a RomneyBot, a RINO, a heathen, an atheist, other stuff -- and all of it happened right here on FreeRepublic. It was the best time I've had since earlier this year when some total nutjob out of the blue accused me of Arnold-bashing. Can't ya see me doing that? Arnold has chunks of guys like me in his crap.

A FReeper and longtime online friend (we met elsewhere) who shall remain nickless (and Christmas is coming, how nice) gave me permission to link to his book -- and believe me, this should definitely confuse whatever's left of the brains of the various namecallers mentioned above.
A Biblical Interpretation of World History by Charles Kimball
Y'see, this week, for a couple of days, under his FReeper screen name, he's been called a RINO and probably worse. You trolls should be very proud of yourselves!

Charles is in no way responsible for my tirade here. We don't even necessarily agree on, well, a lot of things, but I don't think we've ever done worse than agree to disagree. I've known him ten years or so, though we've never actually met, and he has been a calming influence in my online life, whether he knows it or not. So anyway, thank you Charles. Your book has been a long time coming.

Many thanks go to those who posted topics or otherwise contributed topics and/or helpful comments, including Charles. All of you are a great reason to spend time on FreeRepublic, particularly during a week like this.

Blam and I got to wondering about the FReeper RightWhale. We are wondering whether he's still a lurker here on FR, or indeed if anyone has heard anything or in contact with him. I sent him FReepmail yesterday.

Check out this -- Rafterman posted, and DelaWhere pinged me to, the topic about the D.C. Convention DVDs -- "Other than postage and production costs, ALL proceeds go to Free Republic!"

Again, thanks to the FR management team, we can now add keywords -- godsgravesglyphs for example -- to our list of subscriptions. During the week I added a link for that capability to the standard ping messages in all my ping lists (well, all but one). Probably should add it to this template too, doncha think?

Would Kimball be from back in the good old Globe days?

Thanks for all you do here on FR and for the entertaining and hopefully therapeutic rant.

I've found hanging out her much more pleasant since I began avoiding posts involving evo/crevo wars, immigration and Romney. On the other hand, since I live and work among many liberals, this is a very welcome refuge of sanity most of the time. The rest is just the price I pay for liking my Scotch unwatered and my Internet unfiltered.
