Posted on 04/26/2004 5:48:38 PM PDT by Big Daddy Paul
How do you think Kerry will do in the Deep South?I doubt he will even try to get one vote from any southrener thats not minority,He campaigned in Mississippi and Louisiana earlier this year but his visit was brief, held in only one place in Mississippi,a small private predominatly black college called Toogaloo.I have always had the feeling that Northeastern Liberals hate white southern males like myself. What is everyone heres take on Kerry and the South?

Florida, Arkansas and Louisiana are the only three I think he has a shot in, and only because there are so many yellow dogs there(Although in Florida's case, it's NYC South).
On the border states, Maryland is his, and Missouri will be a fight.

"He can win Louisiana. Be warned."Louisiana and Massachusetts have a great deal in common.
None of it flattering.

I can't speak for the whole South, but since I am a born and raised Southern boy, I got to tell ya, we sure love French-looking, ultra-liberal, gun-grabbing, flip-flopping, preening, pretty boys from up north.

We need big yard signs that show that picture of President Bush clearing brush next to the one of John Kerry snowboarding with that stupid effeminate flower dangling from his jacket.

Southerners really
Hate the
Ugly French.
To win, he'd have to bend
Over backwords. Even then,
Unless he runs with a Southerner, he has
The proverbial snowball's chance in hell.

He seems to think he can win in Louisiana. I heard a radio news person speculate today that Kerry may choose John Breaux as a running mate. That would give him a real chance in Louisiana, IMO.

As a Floridian, I battle these people everyday. I can say that for the most part it is split 50/50. What I find distressing is that the Bush haters are ignorant of the facts and only believe what they hear on CNN. The same ol "Bush lied" crowd. I ask them what they know about why we went to war and Res. 1441 NEVER comes up until I explain it to them...
To: Big Daddy Paul
Well, I hate to say it, but here in the Land of The Hanging Chad, anything can happen. I would hope he wouldn't get any votes but I know some people who I am pretty sure will vote for him.

I don't think northeastern liberals hate Southerners, but they do feel intellectually and morally superior. As far as Kerry and the South go, there's not a single common connection. Kerry might just as well save himself the money and time. He's got a better than 50% chance of taking Massachusetts if he applies himself.

I personally don't believe Florida will be close. Republicans are very strong in the state. I believe they hold all statewide offices, excluding the current Senate seats. I believe the only reason Al Gore ran close was because he had a Jew on the ticket that practically moved to Florida.
I think in Nov Bush will carry FL easily and we will gain a Seante seat there.

They hate anyone not a northeastern liberal, except for maybe west coast liberals and the metropolitan liberals scattered throughout the U.S. From what I've read they see the South as not much more than a bunch of bible-thumping racists with a vote attached.
BTW, anyone else completely disgusted by Kerry when he points at people, namely those people who have the nerve to question him at his little rallies?

I don't think northeastern liberals hate Southerners, but they do feel intellectually and morally superior. I agree with you about that superiority thing. My husband once answered some questions posed by a telephone survey and the lady told him that most people who vote Republican tend to be less educated, etc. He then asked her some financial and political questions which she was unable to answer. I hope she realized how dumb she sounded!
