He might be a friend, but sounds like he has some kind of control problem and/or is throwing some kind of fit over it.

Seriously, I've been in enough groups, and teams, and in enough roles to know that one person can't (and shouldn't) do it all.

Some in my team might not play something the exact way I would, but I have to live with it and actually they might have better ideas than me anyway.

Micromanagers rarely accomplish a whole lot.
