"TOM McSELFISH = Gov. BustaMENCHA"
9/14/2003 | ALOHA RONNIE Guyer

Posted on 09/14/2003 10:05:38 PM PDT by ALOHA RONNIE

NEVER FORGET

.."TOM McSELFISH =

...Gov. BustaMENCHA"

........was THE Sign to behold at this weekend's California Republican Convention held in Playa Del Rey next to the Los Angeles International Airport. So I did.

...No Convention Endorsement came for California Governor, but a posted Convention Straw Poll showed ARNOLD with nearly ..80%.. of the votes verses a little over ..18%.. for TOM McCLINTOCK.

...No one backed down this weekend, though it was hoped one Candidate for California Governor would, with Recall Election Financier Congressman ISSA watching it all unfold right before his very eyes.

Signed:.."ALOHA RONNIE" Guyer / Republican Convention Witness

NEVER FORGET

Just thought you should know since you seem to have a "holier than God" attitude about you.

I knew that about Jay (he wrote them with Hamilton and Madison). I didn't say he was the only writer. What does that have to do with my point? Nothing.

If stating the Truth according to Scripture is holier-than-thou to you, that's really just too bad. The truth is what matters yet you want to focus on me. Try focusing on the issue if you can.

God expects us to use our brains, too exmarine.

There is such a thing as a Pyrrhic victory.

If one voted for Perot in 92 out of 'conscience' one might have won his own personal victory, but helped to lose the moral war in America.

I have been a Christian for over 45 years, raised in a very conservative, Christian home, and have been interested in politics since I was a child.

And I have learned that sometimes what SEEMS to be the best thing for America morally is not.

I do appreciate the fact that you stand on moral principle regarding your vote......don't get me wrong on that. But I have yet to see that you allow others to do the same, even if they share the same moral convictions.

The BEST thing for the life of the unborn in California may well be voting for Schwartzegger.

At any rate, it's between you and the Lord, and I respect your convictions, as I hope you respect mine.

How else will voters make their points?

Stupidly!

There is no BunnySlippers on LP (are you saying there is?). There is someone named Bunny ... but not me. I support praying for Bush. I am not registered over there. Why are you? They are really nuts.

Do you know when the debate is.

Perhaps voters 'making their point' is not the highest goal, Saber.

Perhaps the highest goal is what is best for America.

The 'real world politic' is filled with a whole lot of things that are wrong. But that doesn't mean I have to bow to the pressure, and stop speaking for what is right.

It is my firm belief that it was NOT right for Christians to vote for Perot, knowing that Clinton was debauched, and knowingly risk what actually happened.......the election of the worst man to ever become President.

I will always believe that......and history backs me up.

"he only wrote the federalist Papers"

Seems you DID say it, didn't you......

Your attitude that "good" Christians should only vote for Tom is disgusting. Pathetic even...and insulting to Christians. Who makes YOU the person to decide how all Christians should vote? And please don't tell me the Bible or the little voices in your head!

I have been a Christian for much longer than you and I know what it is to be a Christian. Christians do not JUDGE the way you judge all those who disagree with you. They do not paint other Christians the way that you do. Christians are inclusive and accepting and forgiving people. They do not "take their ball and go home" when they don't get everything their way.

Please grow up and stop giving Christians such a bad name. It is so easy to hide behind the bible when you don't get your own way.

Hmmmm.....I was there for 2 days because the jerks over there were mocking me, someone here called my attention to it, and suggested I defend myself.

It was well intended, but bad advice. I haven't been back since, but I know they've continued their Jr High mockery of me since then. There are more morons collected there than in any place on earth other than the DU (probably some of the same morons).

I can check it out to make sure, but someone registered as 'bunnyslippers' mocked me there for my tagline here.

Apologies if it wasn't you.

And no.....I don't know what time the debate is tonight.

Thank you, grunt......but I think I've spent a bit too much time here.

I actually have a life (a GOOD one, too), and debating this point for this long can't continue to be part of it.

Good luck in your election........and if Bustamante wins, let me suggest that Ohio is a VERY nice state! :o)

When conservatives desire liberal policies enacted, they'll vote for Arnold.

It's very simple.

Bush enacted liberal policies and he lost conservatives.

Also very simple and understandable.

Now...why don't you just choose to elect someone who can be relied upon to enact a few conservative policies so that conservatives can vote for them?

God expects us to use our brains, too exmarine.

Specious argument. God expects us to act according to moral principle in all things. He does not want us to play God.

There is such a thing as a Pyrrhic victory.

This is a military principle and does not apply to morals. This was when Greek King Pyhrrus squandered his forces in his battles against Rome circa 280 B.C. Following moral principle is NEVER unwise.

And I have learned that sometimes what SEEMS to be the best thing for America morally is not.

Nice princple, but this does not apply to Arnold or any reprobate candidate. Are you all-wise and can know that voting for a reprobate will result in good? How can you know that? He's pro-gay and will further the destruction of the family. You have only give vague and unsupportable specious principles, but you have not addressed the effects of having a pro-gay governor, or how voting for such a man is justified. You are giving political scenarios, but moral principle trumps politics every single time. Only God is outside of time and can manipulate circumstances to work out for good. Man is not wise enough or powerful enough and therefore must follow moral principle.

The BEST thing for the life of the unborn in California may well be voting for Schwartzegger.

I haven't seen one iota of good moral reasoning that would bring anyone to this conclusion. If people want to waste their vote by backing a reprobate over a godly man (and MORE QUALIFIED MAN!), then let them suffer the consequences of their folly.

Debate, it ain't.

I'm familiar with Ohio and concur. I'm in the belly of the beast and maybe I'm doing God's work now, and I'll stay and finish the fight. Thanks for the well wishes.

I MUST PRESUME THAT YOU WOULD VOTE FOR CLINTON if he ran as a Republican because you INSIST we support Arnold and honestly, at the moment, Clinton enacted more conservative polices than Arnold has said he would do in any way that can be trusted or verified as consistent with his past.

You support Arnold...tell me again...WHY WOULDN'T YOU SUPPORT CLINTON if he ran as Republican?!!

The analogy is perfectly apt and it is the reason why there are so many McClintock supporters. I'll ping others for that verification.

Now, you're in a cave of liberalism, stop digging deeper, by choosing not to vote another liberal into office and climb out of the hole, by choosing conservative candidates.

I wonder if I should be concerned about this. I have seen the name bunny in the Biker bar. I just went over there to see if I could find the post you were referring to (I couldn't) but they are advocating voting Bush out of office!!!

Ah...a personal attack because you can't offer anything to address my point.

Wait...you haven't addressed my point in over 100 posts.

Why are you posting?

If you need conservative votes, you need conservative issues. It's time for the freaking liberals within the Republican party to start compromising to garner conservative votes.

Perhaps it is time for the "freaking" conservatives to copmpromise with the Republican party. Have you ever thought of that? Of course not, people like you do not compromise, you only demand that everyone else bow to you.

I think you should take your ball and go home.
