Pheobe Debates The Theory of Evolution

I was just lisening to Medved debating Creationism with Athiests on the air. I found it interesting that while Medved argued his side quite effectively from the standpoint of faith, his opponents resorted to condescension and beliitled him with statements like, "when it rains, is that God crying?" I was reminded of the best (at least most amusing)debate that I have ever heard on the subject of Creationism vs Evolution, albeit a fictional setting. It occurred on the show, Friends of all places between the characters Pheobe (The Hippy) and Ross (The Paleontologist). It went like this...
Pheebs: Okay...it's very faint, but I can still sense him in the building...GO INTO THE LIGHT MR. HECKLES!!
Ross: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What, uh, you don't believe in evolution? Pheebs: Nah. Not really. Ross: You don't believe in evolution? Pheebs: I don't know. It's just, ya know, monkeys, Darwin, ya know, it's a, it's a nice story. I just think it's a little too easy.
Ross: Uh, excuse me. Evolution is not for you to buy, Phoebe. Evolution is scientific fact. Like, like, the air we breathe, like gravity... Pheebs: Uh, okay, don't get me started on gravity.
Ross: You uh, you don't believe in gravity? Pheebs: Well, it's not so much that ya know, like I don't *believe* in it, ya know. It's just...I don't know. Lately I get the feeling that I'm not so much being pulled down, as I am being pushed.
Ross: How can you NOT BELIEVE in evolution? Pheebs: [shrugs] I unh-huh...Look at this funky shirt!!
Ross: Well, there ya go. Pheebs: Huh. So now, the REAL question is: who put those fossils there, and why...?
Ross: OPPOSABLE THUMBS!! Without evolution, how do YOU explain OPPOSABLE THUMBS?!? Pheebs: Maybe the overlords needed them to steer their spacecrafts!
Pheebs: Uh-oh! Scary Scientist Man!
Pheebs: Okay, Ross? Could you just open your mind like, *this* much?? Okay? Now wasn't there a time when the brightest minds in the world believed that the Earth was flat? And up until what, like, fifty years ago, you all thought the atom was the smallest thing, until you split it open, and this like, whole mess o' crap came out! Now, are you telling me that you are so unbelievably arrogant that you can't admit that there's a teeny, tiny possibility that you could be wrong about this?!?
Pheebs: I can't believe you caved. Ross: What? Pheebs: You just ABANDONED your whole belief system! I mean, before, I didn't agree with you, but at least I respected you. Ross: But uh.. Pheebs: Yeah...how...how are you gonna go in to work tomorrow? How...how are you gonna face the other science guys? How...how are you gonna face yourself? Oh! [Ross runs away dejected] Pheebs: That was fun. So who's hungry?

Back then, it had text on it, and that text led one to believe he got his username from the guy in the link. So is it your story that you looked or you didn't look? And how about all the poster who linked the CV page on the thread directly?
To: ALS
Only after A-G sent you a DIRECT link.
We told you that ALL you had to do was click his user name and you would be very easily led there. As a matter of fact, we told you that NUMEROUS times.
You CHOSE not to, YOU chose to make a big stink instead, when all you had to do was make 3 mouse clicks and you would have been there.
There were no virus' awaiting you, no trojan horses, no locks that could have blocked your way, it was 3 mouse clicks.
One click to his user name, one click on all about the professor and one click on his CV.
That was it, we aimed you in the right direction.
I wonder why it takes a direct link from A-G to actually get you to look at the information?
Maybe because you IGNORE ALL information from our side?
I wonder why that is?
Because if you remain ignorant, you can continue to make fun of our postings? Hmm, could that be why you choose ignorance?
OK everyone, what did I win?
Another Smarmy remark from ALS I am sure.
But when given the facts and the truth he freaks out, so I will just wait for the sure to come freaking out, as he tries to brow beat me into submission. LOL

you are stepping over the guidelines policy. Not at all. I have no intention of posting your IP address. However, I'm certainly entitled to look at who's accessing my site, and when.
To: VadeRetro
NO ONE DID
nice try
and you still have failed to address the question as to why NONE of you said "yes" or "no" when asked directly

I called you a liar for calling me a liar. Still unexplained: how did you know beforehand when I hadn't done it yet?

Are you entitled to admit it was a ploy to gain an IP?

I did for one. Don't recall who the others were but there were others.
To: VadeRetro
Waving hands, I did, I did, I told him EXACTLY where to get the info he was seeking, 3 mouse clicks away.
Ahh, yes indeed, I think his short term memory is shot, as is his long term memory, man, that must be a real pain.

even you can't be that dumb
let's go over the simplicity of reality for the simple minded..
here's the statement:
I called you a liar for calling me a liar.
starting to get it yet?
You called me one(former) I called you one for calling me one(latter)
see how simple that was?

Are you entitled to admit it was a ploy to gain an IP? No. I wish I'd thought of it beforehand, but it only occurred to me afterwards.
I have to go. I'll trudge through the logs tomorrow.

Somehow, PH, I'm getting the feeling that you aren't quite ready to get into the spirit of this thing. Kiddo, if you want to point the finger of blame, and think that's going to cut it with me, well -- all I can say is, to the extent you think you can do that, you are telling me you refuse to "look into the mirror".... No assumption of personal responsibility there, guy.
The fact is, there is a number of people here of whatever persuasion for whom "combat" is fun, and "winning" is everything. And it's obvious who these people are, to any objective observer. One of the dead giveaways is they have this nasty habit of "the pot calling the kettle black."

I think it's time you came in here and gave your story of what you remember. I do believe it was you in the thread at the time the game of not saying yes or no about the prof took place.
Your opinion is appreciated.
