You are coveting the happiness of others, condemning them for living life according to their own principals. That the problems in the middle east are traceable to Abraham's "sin" is without doubt the most ignorant interpretation possible and hearkens back to the inquisition. You also sin by not showing love--by not admitting that you could be wrong in these matters, and instead demanding that another "read the entire Bible."

News for you Torquemada, I have! and that all sin is equally repugnant to God is an interpretation--not holy writ.

Prove me wrong with Scripture, Mr. Pharisee, and explain how Solomon with hundreds of wives and thousands of concubines producing God knows how many children is not the cause of the middle eastern conflict. Love (acceptance) would go farther to heal that situation, rather than your puritanical viewpoint.

Even the Arabs will tell you that they are the children of Ishmael, and the Jews are the children of Isaac. Twigs is right in that respect.

1 John 3:4 … sin is the transgression of the law.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 1
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: for Jew first, and then Greek.
17 For in it is revealed the righteousness of God from faith to faith; as it is written, "The one who is righteous by faith will live."
18 The wrath of God is indeed being revealed from heaven against every impiety and wickedness of those who suppress the truth by their wickedness.
19 For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them.
20 Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result, they have no excuse;
21 for although they knew God they did not accord him glory as God or give him thanks. Instead, they became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened.
22 While claiming to be wise, they became fools
23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or of snakes.
24 Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the lusts of their hearts 15 for the mutual degradation of their bodies.
25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

These are just some scripture references. If a person does not want to understand what the Bible has to say about sin--or anything for that matter--then they will not see it. The Bible, like anything worthwhile, does not spit out easy answers. It requires genuine study. If you really care about the nature of sin, then you will be open to truly study God's word.

I wish you all the best in your studies.
