Is Bush the Antichrist?

During the eight years of Clinton's presidency, I was repeatedly asked, "Chuck, do you think Bill Clinton is the antichrist?" (Of course, I answered no.) Therefore, it is more than interesting to me that since G.W. Bush became president no one has asked if I thought he was the antichrist. Not one single person! Instead, many people attribute to Bush god-like qualities, which actually makes him a better candidate than Clinton was.
You see, one of the chief characteristics of the coming antichrist is that he appears "as an angel of light." Therefore, an obvious reprobate such as Bill Clinton is immediately disqualified. The antichrist, by very definition, is a master deceiver. He must be someone who appears as good and benevolent. The bite is in his tail not in his tongue. In reality, Bush's angelic persona makes him much more dangerous than bad boy Billy.
For example, while Clinton was in the process of appointing numerous homosexual activists to his administration, copious letters from Christian leaders such as Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, and D. James Kennedy flooded America's Christian community. Appeals for protest and resistance were heard from pulpits throughout the country. A massive media campaign began against Clinton.
Today, however, President Bush is in the process of copying Clinton's numerous appointments of open homosexuals to high positions of government, but there are no letters, no warnings from pulpits, and no media campaigns opposing it. Just the opposite. Bush is being defended, lauded, and glorified for everything he does, no matter how unconstitutional or unscriptural it might be.
When Clinton only talked of legalizing embryonic stem cell research, he was castigated and condemned. Bush actually made the procedure legal, and yet, he was praised and honored. Clinton was denigrated when he tried to convince Israel to give up land for peace. Now, Bush is in the process of actually trying to create an independent Palestinian state for Israel's enemies (with Jerusalem as its capital, no less), yet continues to receive glowing adulation. If Clinton even suggested that America's immigration laws might need to be liberalized, he was denounced in the harshest terms; but Bush can actually grant limited amnesty to thousands of illegal aliens, and there is not the faintest whisper of protest.
Do you recall how Clinton was criticized for the "low lifes" he invited to the White House? Well, Bush recently invited wild man rocker, Ozzie Osbourne, to the White House. Have you heard any notable Christian leader take Bush to task for that?
You remember Ozzie Osbourne, don't you? He is the former front man for the heavy metal band, Black Sabbath. He is famous for stage antics such as biting the heads off birds and bats. His abuse of drugs and alcohol are also well known. Furthermore, Ozzie Osbourne desecrated The Alamo by pissing all over it. In spite of this, George W. Bush is said to be one of Osbourne's biggest fans. As such, Osbourne was recently invited to the White House for dinner. Have you heard any criticism of Bush for this?
Obviously, I do not believe President Bush is the antichrist any more than I believed Bill Clinton was. However, I do believe that Bush possesses more deceptive qualities than Clinton did and, therefore, is more dangerous. I also now understand more clearly how even "the elect" can be deceived. Bush' s acceptance by the overwhelming majority of Christian people proves the country is ready for the antichrist, whoever he is.

Martin Luther said the antiChrist was the Pope. Of course THAT pope is no longer living. But that is a position of high trust and religious leadership from which an antiChrist could come. Powerful, world leader, all good, then becomes possessed and turns evil. But a pope isn't the only person in a position to do that. Just one of many world leaders who could start out good and turn evil. I don't know much about the antichrist, but I do know that he will decieve people at first and appear Godly, but at some point it will become obvious that he is not Godly.
I will worry about GWB being the antichrist at such a point in time that he stops being a humble, God-fearing man and starts insisting that we worship GWB. Until then, President Bush has my respect and admiration.

So the President isn't allowed to have his own tastes in music? I don't see why this would matter to anyone. Of course, I wouldn't really see a problem if Bush was actually a fan of the Osbournes either. Their show is hilarious.

This cultish web site has a right to it's views and agenda. It sure is not a peaceful site, it has a constant anti-Christian theme, almost like whatever religion/viewpoint this cult is, is so much better. Any site that bashes with this theme must not be strong enough in their own creeds and principles as they see fit to bash others.
It also has some seething anti-Bush articles. I would not even call it fundie, muchless a religion. It is Bashing others News, not Covenant News.

In reality, Bush's angelic persona makes him much more dangerous than bad boy Billy. Reality. A place where Chuck Baldwin obviously doesn't spend much time.

Am I missing something? "The Heavenly Ether Reserve?" Can you help me out with this one?

The totality of the Bible's teaching on antichrist or antichrists is found in the following four verses:
1 John 2:18 "Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists."
1 John 2: 22 "Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son."
1 John 4:3 "and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world."
2 John 7 "For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist."
This is what one gleans from the Bible if one doesn't read into it what it doesn't say:
1) There is no such individual as "The Antichrist." John specifically said that there were "many antichrists." An antichrist is simply someone who is "anti" or against Christ.
2) The antichrist phenomenon was current when John wrote these letters, almost 2000 years ago. John specifically said that "the spirit of the antichrist"... "is now in the world." That he had some 21st century individual "Antichrist" in mind is ridiculous.
All this junk that Hal Lindsey, Chuch Baldwin, and others say about some future dictator known as The Anti-Christ is the figment of a fevered imagination.
I know that this understanding of antichrist isn't going to sell many books; nor will it make a thrilling movie. But it is the truth.

You better Yahoo again, then.
"Invited to perform" is not the same as "invited to the White House", unless you mean "invited to perform at the White House" which is not stated anywhere in the James Brown article linked above.
You've never heard of the Kennedy Center Honors either, I guess.

Covenant News and it's founder is the antichrist, they represent themselves as the truth serum and ONLY answer of light gobbley gook line of views.

I wish some of these people would read what he predicted.
Yes indeed, he was the major cause of what he predicted, mainly that within 30 years, the US will be no longer a world power, rather, most likely China will be number one. He also mentions EU as being a player.
Unfortunate that many people will just brush it off without thinking on their own.

Doesn't the Bible say that many will be deceived by the anti-ChristDeception means you don't know how wrong you are. While don't think Bush is the A/C, the time is getting close, and when he does come your average folks will kill for him...

"...the original post..was intended to make people think."
Articles like that, though, are just the type to bring out the vipers. Someone rightly said the other day "if you're gonna stay around here and post articles you'd better develop a thick skin." And, I'd add, learn to deal with that hissing sound.
I know nothing about the author, but I understand what he was trying to say. Satan can appear as an angel of light, and we'll fall for that because we expect him to be obviously evil. His earthly cohorts can "masquerade as servants of righteousness" even.
My understanding of this end-game deception by Satan, though, is that people will be CAUSED to believe his lies as a judgement on them for "refusing to love the truth" (see Thessalonians). I doubt antichrist could appeal to all people in the flesh. Using the author's analogyClinton=Bad / Bush=Gooddepends on mere human appeal.
I believe people will be sitting ducks for antichrist because they reject God's one and only Son. Judgement!

Don't forget that he was on their payroll, and therefore has inside info. Anyway, read The Book. Who cares what Clinton says.
To: MatthewViti
Furthermore, Ozzie Osbourne desecrated The Alamo by pissing all over it. Hearing this one sentence being spoken by none other than Chuck Baldwin has truly made my day, and made this article more than worth my while to read. Thanks!

I recall these same people here on FR, decrying everything clinton did or said. They were correct, however, it does show blind partisanship when they find absolutely nothing wrong with Bush. And before you lump me in with all of them, or accuse me of hypocrisy, let me state right up from that I ALWAYS had more legitimate beefs with Clinton than his musical tastes.
I also had a legitimate beef with his overnight guest list, since the rooms were essentially being rented out in many cases.
If you can prove that's happening now, I'll be the first to denounce Bush. If not, I fail to see the BFD here. Willie Nelson has a record too.

Bush doesn't approve people that go to that dinner. The White House Correspondents' Association does THAT.And we all know that, generally speaking, White House correspondents aren't exactly fond of the current occupant of the White House.

LISTEN UP CYNICOM AND MATTHEWVITI
THE PRESIDENT IS NOT THE ANTI-CHRIST
OZZY ON THE OTHER HAND IS FROM SATAN
"Some people say MY LOVE cannot be true
Sabbaths song N.I.B. (Nativity In Black), from their first album, is one of the most openly satanic songs ever recorded. It is a love-song from Lucifer. In the song, Ozzy sings in the first person as a loving, gift-giving Lucifer. . . And Ozzy, a.k.a Lucifer, openly invites the listener to "take Lucifers hand".
Please believe me, MY LOVE, and I'll show you
I will give you those things you thought unreal . . .
YOUR LOVE FOR ME has just got to be real . . .
Look into my eyes, you will see who I am
MY NAME IS LUCIFER, PLEASE TAKE MY HAND!"

Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. Matthew 12:45

Sad. This is what gives Christians a bad name and makes it very difficult to witness to people. To begin any kind of assessment of Bush, who
in three or four executive orders HAS DONE MORE FOR THE UNBORN/PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT THAN ANYONE IN HISTORY, INCLUDING REAGAN is itself "deceptive" and deceitful.
If Mr. Baldwin is a Christian, he should pray for forgiveness for slandering a man who has lived more like Christ than any President I can think of, including Reagan and Lincoln.
