Is Bush the Antichrist?
The Covenant News ^ | April 12, 2002 | Chuck Baldwin

Posted on 05/03/2003 9:47:29 AM PDT by MatthewViti

During the eight years of Clinton's presidency, I was repeatedly asked, "Chuck, do you think Bill Clinton is the antichrist?" (Of course, I answered no.) Therefore, it is more than interesting to me that since G.W. Bush became president no one has asked if I thought he was the antichrist. Not one single person! Instead, many people attribute to Bush god-like qualities, which actually makes him a better candidate than Clinton was.

You see, one of the chief characteristics of the coming antichrist is that he appears "as an angel of light." Therefore, an obvious reprobate such as Bill Clinton is immediately disqualified. The antichrist, by very definition, is a master deceiver. He must be someone who appears as good and benevolent. The bite is in his tail not in his tongue. In reality, Bush's angelic persona makes him much more dangerous than bad boy Billy.

For example, while Clinton was in the process of appointing numerous homosexual activists to his administration, copious letters from Christian leaders such as Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, and D. James Kennedy flooded America's Christian community. Appeals for protest and resistance were heard from pulpits throughout the country. A massive media campaign began against Clinton.

Today, however, President Bush is in the process of copying Clinton's numerous appointments of open homosexuals to high positions of government, but there are no letters, no warnings from pulpits, and no media campaigns opposing it. Just the opposite. Bush is being defended, lauded, and glorified for everything he does, no matter how unconstitutional or unscriptural it might be.

When Clinton only talked of legalizing embryonic stem cell research, he was castigated and condemned. Bush actually made the procedure legal, and yet, he was praised and honored. Clinton was denigrated when he tried to convince Israel to give up land for peace. Now, Bush is in the process of actually trying to create an independent Palestinian state for Israel's enemies (with Jerusalem as its capital, no less), yet continues to receive glowing adulation. If Clinton even suggested that America's immigration laws might need to be liberalized, he was denounced in the harshest terms; but Bush can actually grant limited amnesty to thousands of illegal aliens, and there is not the faintest whisper of protest.

Do you recall how Clinton was criticized for the "low lifes" he invited to the White House? Well, Bush recently invited wild man rocker, Ozzie Osbourne, to the White House. Have you heard any notable Christian leader take Bush to task for that?

You remember Ozzie Osbourne, don't you? He is the former front man for the heavy metal band, Black Sabbath. He is famous for stage antics such as biting the heads off birds and bats. His abuse of drugs and alcohol are also well known. Furthermore, Ozzie Osbourne desecrated The Alamo by pissing all over it. In spite of this, George W. Bush is said to be one of Osbourne's biggest fans. As such, Osbourne was recently invited to the White House for dinner. Have you heard any criticism of Bush for this?

Obviously, I do not believe President Bush is the antichrist any more than I believed Bill Clinton was. However, I do believe that Bush possesses more deceptive qualities than Clinton did and, therefore, is more dangerous. I also now understand more clearly how even "the elect" can be deceived. Bush' s acceptance by the overwhelming majority of Christian people proves the country is ready for the antichrist, whoever he is.

Well, when I was in uniform, I had someone tell me that I was too 'nice'.
The actual quote was, "You're way too nice. You're Satan, aren't ya?"
I joked about it a bit and asked him if he'd sell his soul to me.

Hey, it was an artillery unit after all, what can I say?

Getting back on subject and assuming my civilian shirt again, I find this article both interesting and annoying at the same time....

Just as I said. It is NOT the a dinner at the White House. And Bush didn't invite him. The headline, also alluded to in this article, is meant to smear Bush.

That must have been kind of embarrassing for the Osbourne's no? I mean they actually responded to the report.

Have you seen Ozzy Osbourne lately? He doesn't seem exactly capable of remembering who has invited him where. :-)

Rather than denounce the author out of hand, I have tried to understand what point he is trying to make. One might take the names out, Clinton and Bush, substitute whatever one chooses, then perhaps what the author is trying to say becomes more apparent.

These "evil" actions of Bush are all trivial, or marginally harmful, or, at worst, concessions to political reality. Clinton's evil acts--sodomy in the Oval Office, obstruction of justice, perjury, illegal fund-raising, accepting money from ChiComs, selling high-tech to Communists, promoting Partial Birth Abortion, rape, etc., etc., were truly evil and treasonous. Inviting Ozzie Osbourne to dinner!!! Horrors!!!

His Christian values, directness, and strength are threatening to the psychiatrically-challenged, apparently.

Nothing was false. That is what irritates some people here, that shrug it off without doing some real thinking.

What a crock! The insinutation that Bush was the anti-Christ was laughable on its face. Then he was flat out wrong about Ozzie Osbourne which he rambled about for over a paragraph as evidence of Bush's moral failings.

He also said that Bush was following the Gay agenda because a couple of low level Bush Administration appointees happen to have a homosexual orientation (not that he's out there promoting Gay Marriage or cross dressing, etc). Im surprised he didnt mention spending money on AIDS in Africa since AIDS is a "gay disease."

He also made Bush out to be a baby killer because on stem cell research his compromise was to allow stem cell research on cells that already exist, are in cold storage and would otherwise be destroyed. Are you going to find adoptive parents for all these cells or are you going to raise them? This Baldwin is a jerk, an extremist nutcase. Case closed.

He wasn'ted invited by President Bush. He was invited by Greta Van Sustern. And it wasn't at the Whitehouse. It's not even sponsored by the Whitehouse.

Dan. 11 describes the Antichrist. It's not President Bush.

As I recall, Bill Clinton's innumerable crimes and disgraces were met with silence from the pulpits, with a few notable exceptions.

No, not silence. As a matter of fact, one very large church in San Antonio whose pastor who had a name for them - I know he called Hillary "Queen Hillary" preached often and loud against them. The federal government investigated the church and tried to deny them tax exempt status.

I must say, and I am responsible for what I say, that Bush is the Antichrist. Altho he acts like an angelic yankee defender of freedom now, he will turn any moment. We must be ready, he could turn tomorrow...no, he could turn in ONE HOUR!

You believe the BBC over other Freepers. The BBC got it wrong. Never happened. Try reading American reporting rather than British.

I was thinking the same way. Although I love Bush I wonder how much of this is true. If any it is too much.

The writer isn't saying that GW is the AntiChrist, he just wonders why Bush hasn't been accused of it. The AC is supposed to be well-liked and loved and respected by all. Practically the perfect man socially and religiously.

You've got it right to wonder as the above guy wondered, not that he is the AC, but that there should probably be some out there that would love to start this rumor...of course they would have to love Bush first, and that would be an oxymoron (so to speak) ....so I don't think that that is a problem :) President Bush is just a great American and thankfully most are leaving it at that!

How sad for you that you will not recognize a good man when you see one and feel you must denigrate and latch onto lies in order not to feel like a "lemming".

Behold the limitations of choosing cynicism. (from a reformed cynic)

The spirit of antichrist, and the Antichrist will not be able to declare Jesus as Lord, which GW has done on numerous occasions.

I John 2:18,22, "Children, it is the last hour: and just as you heard that antichrist is coming; even now many antichrists have arisen, from this we know that it is the last hour...Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist the one who denies the Father and the Son."

The nonsense of today's Evangelical Premillenialism is proof positive that the need for sound doctrine is one of our most critical today.
