Okay, now I am confused..

Perhaps OWK was the first one to put the name "Opus" to these threads?

Or was it this Don Morgan (Same as "Navigator" ?) I keep hearing so much about?

OKW was the originator of the opus.

Don Morgan was the originator of the Ash Alerts.

Don Morgan and Navigator are two totally different people.

Navigator still posts occasionally but I don't believe Don Morgan does anymore.

I'm not sure who coined the term "opus" for the final farewells that so grip FR periodically. But Don Morgan certainly hammered the concept; I believe he posted at least two dozen "This is the last you'll hear from ME" threads. Finally, one of them was right.

And no, Don Morgan is not Navigator.
