How do you think paleontologists know where to dig for hominid remains? Honestly, Junior -- I have no idea. In the vicinity where they found the last one? Maybe you should just tell me! Thanks for writing.

Evolution and its many associated theories make predictions about where one might find ancestors of modern critters, including people. For instance, evolutionary researchers worked out that humans probably evolved somewhere in East Africa, so paleontologists and anthropologists had an idea of where to look for hominid remains.
