Hmm, intersting. If you like Penrose, I do recommend -- I firmly do love -- Frank Wilczek's Longing for the Harmonies. (Written with his wife, Betsy Devine, I believe.) It's a great book written by a leading particle physicist (and uncle to I think one of the next generation's best physicsts, string theorest Alfred Shapere).

Thank you so much for the reply and the recommendation! I'm sorry it has taken so long to get back to you, but I have been reading reviews on the book and it is clearly a "must read" for me because I am one of those who are drawn to the harmonics.
