And the creation
Between the emotion
And the response
Falls the shadow
Life is very long."

What is the story behind your FReeper screen name? I find it very poetic and thought provoking.

Somewhere in this thread, I believe you wondered "what came before the BB." But, my curiosity leans toward not "what" but the causation. Even if we stipulate that the "what" consisted of matter and energy, how does the BB theory square with the Laws of Thermodynamics? Please see my embarrassingly monster post #1356 (sorry, don't know how to link it into this post) for discussion of this point. Here's a quote from post #1356 that I think pertinent:
>>"Several variations of the Big Bang Theory have been proposed to explain away the fact that the universe had a beginning. All have been in contradiction to the 2nd Law of Thermo. All the variations on the Big Bang Theory boil down to the question dictated by the 2nd Law of Thermo: Who or what energized the Big Bang?"<<
Also, regarding the statement that not even religion can answer the question of why we're here, I beg to differ. I would understand if you don't accept this "answer," but the Bible tells us that God created us to worship Him, to communicate with Him; He wanted other beings in the universe to pour His love into. That'd be us.
