You made six statements that are blatently wrong. Statesmen do not advocate killing. They play the good guy role.

Powell had nothing at all to do with troop deployments in Afganistan.

We did not use a large number because the Afgan locals would have viewed it as a invasion and not a liberation. They would have fought us. A nice PR stunt that would have been.

We were after Alqada, not the Taliban. Binn laden is dead. 50% of the names we were looking for are dead or captured. More every week.

Saddam was left in power because Bush #1 did not think it was necessary to take him out. He was wrong! Not this Bush! This time around, even Powell is on board.

Powell will always appear to be more of a pacifist when on the national stage. That is what a Statesman does. Henry Kissinger got the same rap, as have others like Halfbright and the rest.

I agree with much of what you say. Another thing that can be done is to get yourself or like minded people elected to state offices.

Running for a state senate seat or state assembly seat can be done rather easily. yes, winning will take a lot of work but not a whole lot of money.

First thing to do is to identify a party seat. That is a seat which will be a Dem seat or a Republican seat no matter who runs. Check your state election laws and find out how to get on a primary ballot. In both NY and CO, these primaries are won with only 2000-4000 votes being cast among all candidates.

Go out and work that district. Remember, you only need to get 2000 votes tops. Identify people who support what you believe. It can be immigration, but also add gun rights, property rights, abortion, outdoorsmen, whoever. Contact them fairly regularly between now and primary day. Get other people who agree with you to run in other districts.

Getting four or five new assemblymen or senators who have an agenda can force the issue into the politicians face and make them take a stand. Remember to choose seats where winning the primary is tantamount to winning the general election, and don't let party affiliation get in your way. Run as a Dem if it's a Dem seat. Run as a Republican if it is their seat.

You can find this out through the Board of elections. If the winner of a race had no opposition or blew the other party out of the water, that's a targeted race. So few people pay attention to these positions but they have a much more direct affect on our lives that federal office holders. Go for it. I'm looking at a race in Denver. Hopefully it will go well in 2004.

Statesmen do not advocate killing. They play the good guy role.

Blatently wrong. Churchill should be rolling over in his grave right now. What about generals. Powell was a pussy when he was a general too. He hasn't changed.

We did not use a large number because the Afgan locals would have viewed it as a invasion and not a liberation.

Oh no ! we wouldn't want the enemy to think that we are invading !!! parish the thought !!

They would have fought us.

Ok ; now that is getting rediculous. What the %&#$ do you think that we have a military for ? If we are affraid to fight when we are attacked , we might as well disband the military.

A nice PR stunt that would have been.

It wasn't suposed to be a PR stunt !!!!!!!!! We were suposed to be killing the enemy like GW said we would do. Unfortunately for the USA it didn't turn out to be much more than a PR stunt. It will come back to haunt us in the future just like letting Sadam go the first time did only it will probably turn out even worse.

We were after Alqada, not the Taliban

The differences between Alq and the hard core taliban are negligable. They are both the enemy just like Bush said they were. There were a minimum of 15,000 hard core enemy troops that swore and swear to devote their lives to killing Americans. We let more than 90% of them go ..... intentionally .... for political reasons. It was a PR stunt , not a war. That is the problem. Colin Powellitis is a desaese.

This time around, even Powell is on board.

Not occording to powell. he has stated numerous times that he doesn't think that it is necessary to kill Sadam or even remove him from power just get rid of the WOMD , Like the French. It's easier. Consumate politicians do what is easiest for them at the moment not what is best for the nation in the long run.

Maybe powell the fall guy in the admin and is looking like the pussy so that Bush can look touph. You may have a point there.
