Walsh is a senile jackass in this case. He was just as easily used as the Smart's pretended to be befuddled when Walsh "leaked" the "young roofer" info on LKL.

I think Walsh is truly a legend in his own mind. I think the SLCPD are definitely senile jackasses and were probably trying to be politically correct and protect Moslems by not releasing the information that the kidnapper wore a turbin. The one thing I'm sure of is they've never given us anything close to the true story of what they have known about the case.
