Go have you ever read the bible for yourself? The church uses 4 or 5 proof texts as absolute proof that they are the ones to interpret it. This is one of them

What does the bible say about the Rock on which the church is built?

Rom 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Is this speaking of Jesus or Peter? This is Paul speaking. Who did he think the rock was?

David knew

Psa 118:22 The stone [which] the builders refused is become the head [stone] of the corner.

Jesus knew He was rejected and what did he say about Himself?

Mat 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Peter knew who the rock was
