Has ANYONE ever been imprisoned for smoking pot?

Liberteens come, and Liberteens go. But they seem to have an awful time with their own (and biggest - maybe only) issue - pot.
As far as anyone can tell, not ONE person has been placed behind bars for smoking pot. But the Liberteens paint an entirely different picture. They claim that HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS are behind bars for smoking.
Can anyone provide any proof either way?

...the night he started this thread...That was on the 21st. I've YET to hear anything from you besides - "...there is no law that prohibits smoking marijuana."
Do you agree - with yourself?

To: Sandy; ZonPlease remove me from your ping list.
You aren't on my ping list. Apparently, you've ended up on the Illegal Drug Freedom Fighter Thug ping list. You may need to notify them...

Why do you flag (ping) me when I never told you to take me off your ping list, Sandy did. That said, please stop flagging (pinging) me when you reply to other people. I have no interest. Your persistent flagging clutters up my comments page.

I mean, how long does it take to learn not to come out swinging with a baseless charge since it only serves to work against the person slinging it?Did you really write that crap?

Stop pinging people who have asked you to stop pinging them.

After reviewing your contributions to this thread, it's easy to understand why some folks echo Shakespeare in his dramatic plea ...
'...let's kill all the lawyers."
I certainly know where I'd suggest starting.

To return to the point of this thread, the army of millions of suffering prisoners-for-dope-alone is an illusion created by pro-dope agitators. From the source cited by Trailerpark Badass in post #10 of this thread:
"as adjusted for the June 1998 prisoner counts, there would be 7,400 state prisoners and 2,300 federal prisoners incarcerated for marijuana possession only, for a total of 9,700 prisoners."
Not exactly "millions," but not exactly "rare" or "nonexistent" either.
To: Lurking Libertarian
9,700 in prison times $40,000 (rough estimate on cost per inmate) = $388,000,000. Whoever thinks spending that kind of money to lock up pot smokers must be getting a good chunk of it paid to them, or are completly sick in the head.

I came to this thread late, and I now realize that the point someone was trying to make was that there is no law against "smoking" marijuana as opposed to "possession" of marijuana. As a lawyer, I can tell you that anyone smoking marijuana is, by legal definition, "possessing" it.
To: Lurking Libertarian
The whole thread is an exercise in tortured semantics.
