A lot of people commute.
How does commuting affect him if he still doing his job?
Accused? Was it stipulated contractually?
Obviously having paid $1 million for a house he couldn’t afford to rent an apartment or motel room so his chiseling of the taxpayers wouldn’t be quite as obvious.
Well, he certainly loves his job!
Used to work with a guy flew his own plane from Las Vegas o Ventura as a commute.
The Millbrae Police Chief is an extraneous, sort-of honorary position, as Millbrae has long ago discontinued and dismissed it's Entire Police Force, (by a vote of the citizenry), and contracted Police Services from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department.
The Millbrae Police Chief opposed Corpus' actions and endorsed her termination.
This kerfuffle is Corpus' retaliation.
He's just smart enough to live in Idaho.
I knew a contract driller who would drive from SW New Mexico to central Idaho and back every two weeks on his 4 days off. It was over 900 miles each way, and he’d do it in around 20 hours with a short nap about midway.
Sounds like Joe Biden to a "tee".
“ARTICLE IV. .... SECTION 2. The citizens of each state shall be entitled to all privileges and immunities of citizens in the several states.”
If only you were a drug-addicted bum, then we could have given you a nearly free apartment.
Our President spends time a Mal-a-Largo, but is expected to respond to emergencies, and SNAP funding lapses.
This don’t seem to be a big deal to me. That county probably has a clause police staff need to reside in the jurisdiction of the county , and he violated that. So buy a crappy house in the county as his primary residence, and spend weekends-holidays at his million dollar home. Thats kind of what he was doing by “living” at the office.
“Super commuting” to the SF Bay Area isn’t actually that rare. The San Francisco fire and police departments reportedly have many employees who live >500 miles away... flying in and out weekly on budget airlines, crashing on friends’ couches etc. while “home” is far, far away. I’ve even met nurses in S.F. who “live” in places like Ohio but commute in and out 4-6 times/month. Seems crazy and stressful but it’s not totally irrational... work where the pay is higher and live where housing is better/cheaper.
He should have had a hide-a-bed or slept in a van or camper.
So no one’s going to mention the half-gallon of liquor?
Idaho don’t have air ports or charters.
Californicators are everywhere up there. Where I lived every house that hit the market was bought sight unseen for cash from Bay Area transplant. Especially during covid lockdowns. They still got paid Bay Area wages but could work anywhere. Sandpoint use to have nice little houses under 100k that the locals could afford, now, a 1 bedroom dump will sell for 500k.
