Former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey claimed he is innocent amid news Thursday that he has been federally indicted.
Comey posted a video to his Instagram account wherein he said he was “not afraid” and felt ready to go to trial.
“My family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump. But we couldn’t imagine ourselves living any other way. We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn’t either. Somebody that I love dearly recently said that ‘fear is the tool of a tyrant,’ and she’s right. But I’m not afraid and I hope you’re not either. I hope instead you are engaged, you are paying attention, and you will vote like your beloved country depends upon it which it does,” he stated.
“My heart is broken for the Department of Justice but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system. I’m innocent, so let’s have a trial and keep the faith,” Comey added. …

The Democrats - unlike the GOP - do not abandon their former leadership members when they are accused of politically related crimes.
Comey will not pay one penny of his own legal fees.
In fact, the Democrats will probably give him a stipend for lunch every day, plus secure transportation to and from court.

Unfortunately, it looks like lawyer Barbie Pam Bondi is not fully supportive of the indictment against Comey and has not supported the US Attorney who secured the Comey indictment.

Bondi has done a good but conventional job in most respects. The problem of course is that more is required, which means firing DOJ employees and vigorously prosecuting people the media will defend. And at such hard actions, Bondi has been a weak sister.
she doesn’t have the guts it takes. Chuck Schumer clearly violated Federal Law threatening Supreme Court judges over their decisions..right outside the Court itself. He should have been charged week 1. Dems showed how to go for the throat..look what they did to Trump and his people...no qualms at all. Bondi is not ready for prime time...the job is too big for her, with what needs to be done.
My guess is that Bondi will be out if the midterms go well enough to assure confirmation of a more vigorous and effective replacement as AG.
