I have a brother named Joseph but we only call him Joseph. The neighborhood we lived in called him Joey for some reason, nobody in our family did. My father was also Joseph, went by Joe but may have been called Joey in his youth.

my guess... joey is short for jolene or joy... and there is no evidence to indicate that she is heterosexual mother or wife.
