Canadians have been left outraged by a telling clue that the United States is edging closer toward making its northern neighbor the 51st state.
Amid repeated warnings from President Trump that he's interested in acquiring Canada as a state of America, Canadians noticed some provincial parks have recently been mislabeled as 'state' parks on Google maps.
Speaking to CTV news, resident Rachel Deren said: 'I would like to draw attention to this disgusting display of American oppression of Canadian culture and autonomy.
'This alarming revelation has stirred many who have noticed, as it is an attack on our Canadian identity.'
Mount Robson Park, Whaleboat Island Marine Provincial Park and Pinecone Burke Provincial Park are among a handful of parks in Canada that go by 'state park' on Google maps.
This is despite being almost exclusively referred to as 'provincial' parks within Canada, while 'state' parks are considered an Americanized term.
'We are proud to be Canadian and will remain so despite attempts like this from our ever increasingly hostile neighbours to the south,' Deren said.
On Reddit, dozens of users have noted the same concerning trend and have set about reporting them as 'errors' to the tech giant.
'It is a big issue,' one user explained.
'Our country is under constant threat from the American administration. His tech minions undermining our sovereignty in small ways is absolutely a big issue. All these things add up. We need to fight back.'
Sensitivities are at an all time high amid Trump's repeated trolling of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about his desire to make Canada a state, insisting it is also the will of the Canadian public and referring to him as a 'governor.'

Just take most of BC, AB and SK.
As an Albertan, I approve of this message.
Western Canada would be deep red. Actually, republican party is way left of where we’re at.
Maritime is not ok. 90% of BC is extremely conservative. Alberta is conservative (losing Edmonton though), SK is conservative. MB is a no go. Ontario is conservative minus the greater Toronto area (build a wall). Quebec is a no go. Maritimes with any luck will break off and fall into the Marianas trench.
Alberta here. We can almost agree, but we want WA minus the western cities and we will wall in Portland. Make it into a gulag. Send any French caught trying to sneak in there.
In Alberta, we call them Indians. I live near one reserve, so I spend lots of time chasing them with the thunder. Chief out there says I’ve scared some straight, but still plenty of bad actors. It’s to the point now that when there’s an issue, I get the call. The chief there also texts me to let me know when the riffraff is leaving and what they’re driving, how many, what they’re armed with (pistols, shotguns or rifles) and let’s me know if anyone will miss them.
Canada should determine what they want..
It seems like there’s not much going on up in Canada.

Because of all the anti-free speech laws and other repressive measures by the government.
“...current population is 41 million not 30..”
From my comely and curvaceous young research assistant “Grok3”....
“Immigrants are now 20% of the population at 6-8 million, with 2.5 million temporary residents in 2023.”
Cannuck globalists/Justin have screwed the old blood settlers and natives.....most newbies are Punjabis.
We would need to gerrymander it beyond even the 10 provinces to get lotsa Red Senators...as with US, most urban/suburban are blue and rural red.
Fisherfolk, though....well....they be odd....mostly Blue.

Canada is a financially dependent sovereign. That’s a bit of an oxymoron, eh? Trump seems to be saying, get your act together, or start calling me “Daddy”.
Nothing new. I remember decades ago when Canadian States wanted to join the US. It caused one Canadian wag to ask “Why would Canada want 50 more States?
Not enough.
You’re welcome. We’re more redneck and right wing than Texans with more guns per capita than Texas. You couldn’t handle it. Good luck with Greenland.
I agree, no way is this going to be one state, more like 8-10.
They didn’t even have their own flag till the 60s
In 1945, GB had ar army and navy also. Not so much now...
Canada is a major part of The Commonwealth.
Be interesting to see if he discusses this with Starmer later this week.
LOL!
It’s just schtick and trolling!
Both Houses in Parliament and EVERY Provincial Legislature would have to approve.
It’s never happening.
