The backup systems are capable of supplying our needs without the green energy. Why pay for two expensive systems? You need to look at the comparative costs of the two systems & which is the most reliable.

That’s what batteries are for, dummy. Oh, never mind, sorry I forgot there is a HUGE battery bank in Central California, right on top of a residential area. It had a ‘bad day’ last week - so that doesn’t work.
