Before all this hub bub, I watched a few shows in which Sweeney appeared. She was a stand out for her acting.
Ok, I'm curious. What movies have you liked her in? For her acting? Or were you being sarcastic?
I thought she was very good in season 1 of The White Lotus (and she kept her clothes on in that). She's also taken a couple of roles lately (Madam Web and Trinity, in which the producers have deliberately avoided the boob fetish stuff (or so I gather; I've not watched either of them). That's to her credit; it suggests to me that she's trying to break out of the rut that she's in. But at this point, she'll have to keep her clothes on consistently for at least five years to rebrand herself.
I just checked her filmography and I see that she played one of the Manson girls in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I don't recall her specifically, and that's probably a good thing; she was one of Manson's pack and if I don't remember her individually, so I'm guessing that she blended in perfectly, which is what a good actor in a minor supporting role should do. Glancing at the cast list, I see a lot of names that have gotten me interested in rewatching it. Quentin Tarantino pulled together a pretty impressive group of actors for cameos.

Not being sarcastic. I saw her in White Lotus and Reality. As I said I was impressed with her expressive face. No boobs were involved. She seems to be well grounded from a good family. Hope Hollywood doesn’t ruin her like Jennifer Lawrence.

Grace Kelly’s looks never did much for me. She just...looked cold. But I guess she wasn’t!
I thought she was very good in TWL. I’ve not seen Reality. I almost never go into movies blind and was going to read some reviews first. This saves a lot of time, and it means that I like most of the movies that I see, as I’ve already weeded out most of the trash. There is a lot of trash, so some due diligence is a good thing.
What is your take on Reality’s handing of the political and national security issues involved? Is it propaganda, or is it fair? A movie doesn’t have to come down on my side of an issue to make my cut, but it does at least need to be fair to all sides of complicated questions.
P.S. In #88, I said Trinity, but I meant Reality. I don’t know where Trinity came from. Both end in a y, but that’s not a very good excuse.
I watched Reality because I was aware of the story and because Sweeney was playing the role. I had just watched White Lotus and she caught my attention. 99% of what I watch is on streaming. However, I was lured to see Napoleon and Dune II (at IMAX) and both movies sucked.
Reality is really interesting because the entire deep state committed enormous crimes against Trump and got off scot-free. Reality got swept up in the Russia hysteria, leaked secret documents and got crushed. I think Reality is a good example of the two tiered justice system. Probably the AR-15 she owned did her in.

She was a stunner. My pick is Hedy Lamarr. Besides beauty, there was a powerful brain behind her. Brilliant mathematician and credited for inventing an early form of spread-spectrum communications.
