"...I could feel the judgments that society and religion had instilled in me and I was very aware of it." ...."Judge not" does not mean to accept anything. In fact, by pretending not to judge, she's judging people by endorsing their sin. If God doesn't judge, He doesn't exist.
"I now reject any teaching or institutions that depicts God as an entity to be feared or to be judged by. God is loving, not fearful; and accepting, not judgmental.
Well said.
Matthew 7:
Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Context matters, my FRiends.
Judge? Don't presume to judge the state of your brother's soul. Do him the favor, though, of judging his actions against Scripture.
Luke 17:
3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
Judging your brother's actions is an act of charity; you may be God's instrument for calling him to repentance. Leave judging his soul to God.
And be sure to clean up your own act ...
