The View co-host Joy Behar trashed conservatives and heterosexual men for pushing tackle football in schools in the wake of the shocking Damar Hamlin collapse on Monday Night Football
Behar said that she had discovered a poll where 45 percent of Americans - most positively heterosexual men and conservatives - said they felt tackle football was appropriate for children, adding 'just saying.'
The long-time liberal host then derisively suggested kids try golf or tennis instead.
Co-host Sara Haines somewhat defended the sport, saying it was a 'huge part of tradition' in America and that she'd grown up, as many Americans had, going to football games all the time.
'I grew up, and football was just the norm,' Haines said. 'My parents went to the games long after we were even in high school because the whole town did. I loved 'Friday Night Lights,' et cetera, et cetera. What it might change is people that have kids coming up because like me, you even wouldn't have known all the damage that could be done now.'
Sunny Hostin then chimed in, saying her son had quit the sport after a hamstring injury and learning of the risks of CTE - Chronic traumatic encephalopathy – a neurodegenerative disease often associated with high-contact sports.

I wonder how many times Demon Behar called male strong cops on people? How many of her body guards or security officers at her studio were golf and tennis high school stars?
All my kids when teens ran track and cross country in high school. Lots of injuries—running is a tough sport and many sports involve injuries…
Why stop at football, ban baseball and hockey,too cuz this happens more often in these sports.
Then ask yourself what will these (mostly) healthy, young black males with no discernable skills do once they flunk outta high school?

If a young man plays football he is gonna get his bell rung. In other words he will get concussions and brain damage. We all know kids who get damaged playing contact sports. I know how important it is to learn how to fight and compete. Even so, it’s not worth it for a young man who expects to earn a living using his brain.
Her son probably got a charlie horse and like the drama queen Sonny is, she blew it outta portion and nagged the boy, his coach and father enough to make him quit.
She honestly believes that heterosexual Conservative men are the only ones that watch football? What planet does she live on?

In mid 60’s HS I went to, the guys that were in tennis were looked at as possible homos.

Least I misunderstood your post I must assume you are referring to football and not Joy Behare. If you are refering to Joy Behare I would suggest psychological help. LOL

Speaking of which, I take supplemental testosterone for hypogonadism. Down here in FL, I’ve been taking notice of various shortages of various types of testosterone cypionate vials. For example, I cannot get the 100 concentration in 10 mL vials, nor can I get the 200 concentration in 2 mL vials, both versions prescribed for me at one point or another.
Is anybody else here on supplemental testosterone, and are they experiencing shortages of their medicine? I’m genuinely wondering, in this day and age, if the shortages aren’t being engineered to — guess what? — help create weaker men. Better for dependence on Big Daddy Government.
I actually agree with her in some ways. Phys ed and sports are supposed to promote life long health and fitness.
Golf, tennis, and swimming are all sports that fit that purpose. Most of the team sports promoted by schools do not fit the purpose nor do they meet the needs of most students.
I have the same complaints about the stupid health classes that revolve around sex and waste inordinate amounts of time and opportunity to really achieve some useful outcomes. Like making them all complete CPR training, or Red Cross childcare certification, food handling cards or lifeguard training instead of their condom on a banana class.
I never felt the same about baseball after I read in the paper that somebody in the stands was killed by a line drive.
Agree people with the craving for control are elated with their work.

Golf or tennis are just fine, if they include full contact.
