I don’t know about all the pomp and circumstance, but you might as well enjoy the party.
The guy is either dead or a dirtbag, but you’re right, she’s brave to put a smile on and enjoy the night with her friends.
What in the world is “punching the wedding cake”? Is that a Welsh thing? Does it have anything to do with the imbecilic custom of the bride and groom pushing cake into each other’s faces?
Looking at the bridesmaids in that one picture errr.....better not to comment further.
What would Sigmund ponder...
(Maybe he felt railroaded by an OCD, ADHD, bipolar and feared for his safety and kept putting off telling her no)
I read a article years ago that women in the UK actually are happier after their old husbands pass away and they let loose a little bit... bridge, teas, what have you. Sometimes I get the feeling that the men might be a little happier too...
Who celebrates a wedding that did not take place?
The guy might have been threatened and went into witness protection.
Fixed your typo. Hope this helps!
I was an event coordinator for several years I can tell you first hand that brides become people the groom has NEVER SEEN before, I have dealt with some brides that I was hoping the groom would RUN FOR THE HILLS!! Someone getting this out of control over a wedding is a SURE SIGN of your life ahead!!
Said they were going to honeymoon in Turkey.
Interesting.
I was at the bar the other night and overheard three women talking in what sounded like Scottish accent. So I approached and asked, “Hello, are you three ladies from Scotland?”
One of them turned red when she heard me and said, “It’s Wales you fool!”
So I apologized and replied, “I do apologise, Are you three whales from Scotland?”
He certainly behaved like a first-class jerk, but from her photos it is not hard to guess the conversations he had with himself.
A friend of mine married a charming and intelligent slightly-overweight woman. After they married she started putting on ten pounds per month, month after month. She was married! The diet was finally over!
They were divorced after about a year.
Chemistry matters.
I never did understand the obsession most women have over weddings. For my wedding, I would have preferred a simple affair. Just a few friends and family and a "reception" dinner at a nice restaurant with just one table.
But my wife thought differently. She spent the better part of a year obsessing over every little detail of the wedding. I was dragged along most of the time very reluctantly as she checked out venue after venue, interviewed photographers, bands, florists, caterers, etc., etc. We invited 150 people, most of whom I never saw again, and spent at least $20,000 on the whole she-bang. That was nearly 40 years ago!
We spent the next two years eating macaroni & cheese while we paid off all our bills but at least we had the "big wedding."
And yes, I showed up for it!
But I would have been fine eloping to Vegas and having some Elvis impersonator give us our vows.
Tonnage. Lots of it. All over the place.
“I’d been looking forward to the food”
I could tell looking at the photos
That's okay.
Somebody has to be.
Better to have the party and eat the cake than to let it rot for 20 years, like in that Dickens' novel.
Tomorrow is another day.
“The ‘groom’ dodged a bullet.”
The groom is an @#$hole. If he didn’t want to marry the girl he never should have asked her or agreed to it.
Good for her for carrying on and following through with the event, sans exchanging vows.
She’s better off without the lout.
He had to have a clue looking at her and the mother or father. DNA and genetics matter as much as chemistry in many circumstances.
Reminds me of a joke i heard- before my wedding. Why does a bride smile all day on her wedding day?? She realizes she just gave her last bl*w j*@
Over a nice aged single malt she will come to realize she is far better off without the loser.
