A pregnant woman who feared she was having a miscarriage was stopped from going to the emergency room for 20 minutes by an officer after her husband honked at him for blocking the hospital entrance with his car.
Kevin Enciso was driving his pregnant wife Sabrina, 32, to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida on doctor's orders because she was in pain from a car accident she was involved in the day before.
But as they approached the hospital in 100F heat on July 28, they found two Miami-Dade cop cars blocking the parking lot entrance as the officers had a chat.
Father-to-be Kevin, 28, decided to honk at the distracted deputies in a bid to rush his wife inside. One officer swiftly moved out of the way while the other decided to conduct a traffic stop.
And despite behind just a few hundred yards from the hospital entrance and in the middle of a medical emergency, the couple were instead interrogated by the officer for 20 minutes - who brushed off Sabrina's concerns since she was still 'breathing.'
It was only after first responders took tearful Sabrina's blood pressure, which was 'sky rocketing,' that the police officers let her pass through and enter the emergency ward.
Sabrina told DailyMail.com that at the time, she was only seven weeks into her pregnancy and had suffered a miscarriage just last year - hence her panic and urgency when she was rushed to the hospital.
After spending multiple hours in the ER following the ordeal, she found out that she was thankfully still pregnant and was in fact expecting twins

From the headline, I thought the cops got involved after the doctor and his homosexual partner blocked the pregnant woman from going into the hospital because her husband honked at the lovers blocking the door. Man, I got that wrong.
Maybe. Nobody, cops included, have any business blocking the emergency entrance to a hospital.
Thank God there was no unfortunate outcome with her pregnancy due to this petty tyrant’s arrogance.
Obviously the officer who did this needs to be suspended.

BTW, AFAIK, at 7 weeks pregnant, there would be nothing that the hospital could have done to "save" a pregnancy besides just telling her to rest....it was not an emergency IMO..

I was alm in on the story until she found out she was in fact expecting twins. I can believe the heat and last year’s prior miscarriage and the elevated blood pressure. I now don’t think this even happened. I feel notice I said feel like it is in the category of a likely story, made up to have internet people say bad things about law enforcement.
This cop also needs to be charged with Obstructing the entrance to the hospital, and possibly putting many lives at risk.
The guy held the line pretty well not providing the officer his license when the copper couldn’t provide him a reason he was detaining him. His wife should have never handed him any ID. NEVER TALK TO THE POLICE! Make sure your passengers follow the same protocol. Remember to ask the question, “am I being detained? Am I free to go?” The cop had no statute to detain him on and was a classic harassment ego driven stop. This cop sounds like a real piece of work. He should be transferred to the janitorial department cleaning toilets … in the jail cells.

If it was an actual miscarriage at 7 weeks a trip to the ER isn’t going to stop something no longer viable. She had been bleeding since the day before. I went through one, and my doctor made an appointment at the office. It looks like these doctors are now abusing the ER instead of taking actual care of their patients if they’re on free medical care.
If the cop is fired, probably worse would take his place. No one would a lick of sense would want to be a cop in Miami Dade.

If I were his chief, he would be placed on some leave without pay, and he would protect and serve in the worst areas of town. Perhaps a demotion in rank would get his attention and his colleagues. Apparently the cop that he was jawing with him knew that they were wrong to be blocking the entrance to the emergency because he got the hell out of the way. But Barney Fife just wasn’t smart enough to realize that he had punched a hornets nest even after being told multiple times by the husband.
Reminds me of the incident where the cops took down the elder Veteran suffering from dementia and hit his head on the hitch. In a store parking lot no less.
The old guy died from that.
Or the one in Utah a few years ago when the all so high and mighty detective wanted that nurse to draw blood from a truck driver who was in the EM after a severe truck crash. That son of a bitch wanted to frame that truck driver and demanded they draw blood for a Drug test. The nurse denied and the son of a bitch took her down and arrested her.
As for the elder guy with dementia..All they had to do was go up and ask him a few questions..like do you know what day it is and simple questions like that. They would have known he isnt right and could have called the EMTs and had them take care of it.

Right, sue the cop which is suing the taxpayers who are most likely already paying her free medical care, and other welfare handouts to raise any kids they may already have or will have. Just fire him or discipline him, we already pay enough in free money. (which they got selling this story to the DM) A miscarriage at 7 weeks isn’t life threatening.

This is a reflection of one of my pet peeves: The dysfunction of our government education system. How is it that an officer does not have the critical thinking necessary to make a common sense decision. Our education system is letting maggots to crawl out from under rocks and infest our society.
Police should be given competency tests in math, science and writing. They should also get mental health evaluations. If they get less than a 90% in any of these areas, they fail and won't get hired.
Finally, they should be paid well enough to reward their proficiency.
