‘We’ve got to save democracy in order to save our species’: Democratic Rep. Raskin says we can’t fight climate change while dealing with the right wing and says Trump’s ‘attempted coup’ will be focus of the January 6 hearings

So in other words, everything we do is an interaction with the natural world around us. Gosh, who could have guessed... :-/

So unless we huddle in a cold dark cave waiting to die... Oh wait, even that would impact the environment in the cave... So this whole notion of not changing the world around us is nonsense. Even someplace a couple of guys visited for a couple of days was changed. Climate change? It's going to happen. Spoiler alert. It's going to happen with or without us, been going on for a couple of billion years, we've only been around about 75 thousand years...

This sounds pretty unlikely, maybe a brief transitory increase in the output of solar energy? Temperatures were quite warm on earth in 1975 too, at least from May to November it was consistently quite warm in a number of regions for which I had some climate stats available. The Canadian arctic had a much warmer summer than most years like what happened more recently around 2012.

I would guess there could be other reasons.....moonquakes, possible tectonic activity on moon, meteor strikes, solar flares, moon distance from sun overall decreasing, Radioactive rocks....misperforming sensors....

actually it is very possible for two reasons, The first is that the astronauts may have disturbed the lose lunar soil and altered the local thermal - optical properties areound the temperature probes. They could have decreased the solar reflectivity and increased the absorption of solar radiation slightly. They may have also reduced the emissivity of the are soil around the probes to reduce the amount of re radiated thermal energy. More likely, they probably brushed away or compressed some of the thick moon dust in the area around the probes. The thick dust acts as an insulation blanket for the ground underneath. Compressing or removing the dust would have had the effect of eliminating the dust insulation blanket which could easily have increased the temperature a few degrees in the ground around the probes. The big problem is that the article implies that the astronauts increased the temperature of the entire surface of the moon which is absolutely absurd

Would be interesting to see a chart over time.

If the theory is correct, temperature should have long ago stabilized as the exposed regolith was bleached out by the intense cosmic radiation.

You forgot Prince Charles.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

A grave oversight.Yes , he aspires to be the Lunar Rogue in Chief, his virtue signalling could power an interstellar exploration instead of powering his putative election campaign to become King of Theives.

So now we can distract eco-nazis from doing real damage by having them run around the globe filling any holes they find.

Good Lord…man made climate change is a concern on the moon? I guess we could just spray paint the surface white.

Gee. I hope that man-caused lunar warming doesn’t cause the maria to rise too much.

"NASA astronauts probably warmed up the moon's surface temperature by as much as 6 degrees Fahrenheit by walking around and poking into the lunar surface."

Fake News, again (or, yet).

The astronaut's presence did NOT "warm up the moon's surface temperature"! It simply warmed up the areas around the probes. This was a miniscule fraction of the "moon's surface".

This simply proves the old adage: Though it's easy to read a thermometer, it's quite difficult to measure temperature.

“So now we can distract eco-nazis from doing real damage by having them run around the globe filling any holes they find”

Hopefully they will have a gay old time.*

* “For over a half century now, The Flintstones theme song has cavalierly touted that when you’re with them you will have a ‘gay old time,’” CNN anchor Anderson Cooper said on the air Tuesday.

“This sort of flip treatment of the homosexual lifestyle, and that it could possibly apply to a family in the stone age, is offensive and outrageous.

What are they trying to say about the homosexual community? That it is for neanderthals? For cavemen? How can any reasonable person not be mortified when they hear this song?”
