A 60 year-old Antifa activist was shot dead by a far-right furry while blocking traffic at a Black Lives Matter rally in Portland, it was claimed.
June Knight was shot in the head at point-blank range on Saturday at Normandale Park when the suspect, named as Benjamin Jeffrey Smith, 43, walked up to her and a group of protesters and shot her in the head at close range.
Smith is a machinist who is said to have posted regularly on far-right forums, backed Kyle Rittenhouse and moaned about crime in Portland also shot four other women, it is claimed. He is also said to be a member of the furry community, who dress up in cartoonish animal outfits and attend gatherings together.
After Smith allegedly shot and killed Knight, he was himself shot by another marcher who was armed. That marcher was arrested, but has since been freed by police, and has not been identified.
Smith remains critically-ill in hospital. The group who were marching did so to commemorate Patrick Kimmons, a black man shot and killed by Portland Police in 2018.
Knight's wife Katherine Knapp said her late spouse would have reasoned with Smith and tried to de-escalate the situation.
'She would have been the one talking to him, to deescalate things,' she told the Oregonian. 'She was really good at that and trying to be human with him and trying to understand.'
Knightly, who was also known as T-Rex, was a mother to a grown-up son who was a longtime LGBT rights activist. She had survived from two rounds of cancer, her wife Katherine Knapp told the Oregonian, and was using a cane to get around while she waited on a knee replacement. She was also partially retired and operated a vape store is southeast Portland.

Smith’s roommate Kristine Christenson told OPB that Smith let her stay with him for free initially, saying, “When I first moved in, he seemed fine. He was actually not that bad of a guy.”She told the site he became more “radicalized” during the Donald Trump administration. She heard him “yelling racial slurs in his room and deriding women,” the site reported.
“As the years went on, he’s just gotten more and more radicalized. He got angrier and angrier,” Christenson told OPB. “I have not been comfortable living with him for a while. I did not feel safe with him, especially this last two years with the whole COVID thing. I think that made him even more angry.”
Christenson told OregonLive a similar account, saying, “He went from ‘FU police’ to ‘Blue Lives Matter’ in the last year.” She described him as “a very ‘fly off the handle’ kind of guy who made me uncomfortable.”
His brother, Aurthur Killion, told OregonLive that Smith “had multiple issues with protesters in his neighborhood. He said they had threatened him and others personally in the past. He said he was ready to defend himself.”
Killion added of his brother: “He had no love for them. But he’s not some right-wing nutjob. He’s a master machinist.”

This confrontation highlights a street fighting tactic antifa employs regularly, namely having weaker members confront/distract while the hard core members hang back waiting for an opportunity to strike.

This whole story sounds like a drug induced brainstorm from Hollywood writers. Ok so the fascist shoots the old woman, let’s make her an antifa protester. Oh, and the shooter is a furry, a furry fascist! Someone shoots him too. The old woman is a lesbian! Are we out of fritos?
I find it hard to believe that a “furry” would find a home outside of the democrat party. My. Guess is that this was just an intra-rat squabble between a globalist socialist and a national socialist.
Hell I heard another story where they were at one house protesting, and a black neighbor came out and was telling them to leave and the shooting came after that. I don't think they know.
