Tom Cruise may have pulled of his most ambitious feat yet as he was seen hanging upside down from the wing of a World War II biplane while filming scenes his upcoming Mission Impossible 8 movie
The actor, 59, was seen filming the death-defying stunt at Duxford Airfield in Cambridge this week, with the 1941 Boeing B75N1 Stearman biplane performing a stomach-churching loop-the-loop and nose-dive with the actor onboard
As the plane soared across the Cambridgeshire countryside, Tom - who was attached to the plane by a harness - perilously dangled himself upside down from the wing
The plane then flipped upside down, which then resulted in Tom sitting upright on the wing in the jaw-dropping move
For the past few weeks, the action man had been taking flying lessons at the airfield in preparation for exhilarating scenes for the next instalment of the Mission Impossible franchise, which is set for release on July 7, 2023
Tom is renowned for performing his own stunts in his Hollywood blockbusters

Say what you will about this Cruise guy, and Scientologist affiliation in general, but he has some brass balls.
Sometimes I wonder who Musk will get to Jump the void ?
He doesn’t need the helmet.
Great actor. No chick wants to date him though because of his involvement in Scientology crap.
Every movie I’ve seen Cruise in was very enjoyable. For those who claim he can’t act I recommend “Magnolia”. He may be a cultish freak in real life, but he’s a darn good actor.
Okay, but it’s not like he is doing a gun scene with Alec Baldwin.
“No chick wants to date him”
Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell are dating.
although I don’t know for sure, I might wager a lot of money that Tom Cruise follows the rules of gun safety every single time.
I guess he’s not gay after all.
Can’t stand the guy.
Ethan Hunt's ex-wife shows up and is ludicrously married to the actor who played the Head Gamemaker in the first Hunger Games film.
I have to believe that Cruise never watched the Hunger Games films.
For those of us who have watched them, the impression of the first Gamemaker is indelible. When you watch that actor in MI-#6, the only thing you see and hear is the Gamemaker.
The scripted dialogue from Ethan's ex-wife is so banal, and so unconvincing, and the presence of the Gamemaker husband is so incongruous, it just completely flattened the rest of MI-#6 for me.
Only thing I ever liked him in was his part in Tropic Thunder
“Tom - who was attached to the plane by a harness”
Oh, well.
I think this is the same guy who plays Jamie in Yellowstone
Yes.
I channel surfed into Yellowstone a couple weeks ago, and there he was.
He has a very respectable resume of films and TV shows.
Regardless, every time I see him my brain flashes on Hunger Games.
And he’s short.
He’s dating Captain America’s girlfriend from 1942.
Hayley Atwell I think…
He did in MI: Fallout
That was awesome.
