Mainstream media controlled the narrative. Hostility turned off some “independent” voters. Was it fair? No. Trump should had realized that and not have taken bait. I’m sure his advisors warned him about it. He didn’t listen. His instincts led him to victory 1st time around right? A lot of it was luck. His opponent was Hillary. America hated Hillary. So what Trump should have done is to Instead pull a Reagan on his way to 2nd term victory. Morning in America campaign compared to Biden’s nightmare in America. That would have helped him to win the reelection. Maybe. That’s just my post election analysis.
MSM is a canard. If they “controlled the narrative” to the degree that you imply, then Hillary would have been elected in 2016.
The only thing that helps your “analysis” is ignoring the steal. And that makes it fall apart, with all due respect. No need to escalate it into an opus, now.
Good point. The media attacked Trump 24/7 for 4.5 years, constantly manufacturing turmoil and phony controversies at which he was the center. It was a hell of a challenge for him— one that no other president, not even Reagan or Bush 43, ever had to tolerate. Obviously, some segment of swing/independent voters were/are too stupid to understand what was happening and perceived Trump as the catalyst rather than the victim of the media-manufactured turmoil. So, yes, in retrospect, he might have taken the bait less and tried to be a little more boring. I’m 100% sure it would have helped, but it likely wouldn’t have hurt.
