In an endorsement published this week, a Washington state newspaper said it agrees with President Trump’s critics that the commander-in-chief has numerous faults — but that doesn’t mean Trump doesn’t deserve a second term. “We recommend voting for him anyway,” the Spokesman-Review of Spokane wrote Sunday about the president, “because the policies that Joe Biden and his progressive supporters would impose on the nation would be worse.”
The editorial described the 2020 presidential election as a choice between “a wretched human being [Trump] whose policies and instincts for helping America thrive are generally correct,” and a “doddering, doting uncle [Biden] who would hand out gifts the nation can’t afford in order to win people’s love.”
“Given that choice,” the endorsement, written by publisher William Stacy Cowles, concluded, “economic policy and principle should prevail. Vote for Donald Trump.”
In making his argument, Cowles listed what he called “Trump’s offenses.” “He panders to racists and prevents sensible immigration reform in a nation built on immigration labor and intellect,” he wrote. “He tweets conspiracy theories. He’s cavalier about COVID-19 and had led poorly through the pandemic. He seeks to dismantle the Affordable Care Act without proposing a replacement. He denies climate change.”
But Cowles also argued that the policies of Biden, should he win the presidency, “would strike at the economic well-being of the country.” …

I voted for Donald Trump BECAUSE HE IS THEE ONLY PRESIDENT in my lifetime that has delivered on nearly all his promises.
Trump unlike predecessors didn’t just pretend to try and then give up and say oh well and then cave to a bunch of moderate and left wing demands. He really impressed me particularly on how he creatively managed to get money to fund the wall even as his own party leadership (Paul Ryan) conspired to stop him. Any other President would have given up. He has been one of the most creative and diligent out of the box thinking Presidents.

The Spokane Spokesman-Review endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016, Romney in 2012, and McCain in 2008.
In the 2020 endorsement of Trump, the Spokesman-Review Op/Ed section thinks it’s better to vote for someone they think is a bad human being but has great policies for the country than to vote for someone they think might be better on personality but has really bad policies for the country.
listen....I live here....there has not been a day that the newspaper hasn’t printed slanted, hateful, and deceitful articles about our prez....not one day...

My mother lives in Coeur d'Alene and subscribes to the Spokesman-Review. She says the same thing. She has threatened numerous times to drop the subscription but hasn't followed through yet.
Mom is another voter who didn't vote for Trump in 2016 but can't wait to vote for him now.
What the hell is so wretched about him? Not being another “for sale” political whore? Keeping his word? Being successful without grifting off the taxpayer? Identifying with and haveing affection for blue collar people that the rest of DC and Wall Street laughs at?
I’m tired of hearing people put him down.
What makes it worse is that this is the same “boilerplate” pack of lies that the media has been spewing for the past half-decade. They couldn’t at least back off on those and admit they are lies while issuing their left-handed endorsement, nor admit their real fear of what a Biden president would entail.

You must be much older than myself. I can only come up with 2. Reagan and Trump. Regard is really a 0.75 but I still love him.
He really needs a 3rd term. Because his 1st term was shot all to hell because of the Russia, Russia, Russia stuff. Maybe, the SC can rule on this.
