She knows impeachment is the path to re-elect Trump and lose her House majority. She’s desperate to head it off. I don’t think she can. She has committee chairs who are among the crazies.
Whatever Nancy wants, Nancy gets. The Dems play hardball. No impeachment.
Those committee chairs are seasoned politicians. They realize they have to make impeachment threat noises to please their base, ahead of elections. The inexperienced newer members are very serious about impeachment, but there are not enough of them to get the job done. If Nancy can hold her seat, the younger members don’t have a chance. But I’ll bet they are able to siphon off some votes.
