Mueller time is over. Now it’s impeachment time
The Boston Globe ^ | March 24, 2019 | Ben Clements and Ron Fein

At long last, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has submitted his report to the attorney general. What does that mean for Congress — and the question of impeachment?

For 21 months, leaders of both parties have found one consistent area of agreement: the ongoing Mueller investigation provided a convenient excuse to duck, deflect, and delay discussion of impeachment. With each new revelation of impeachable conduct, the bipartisan response from Congress has been that impeachment talk was “premature” until the Mueller report was complete.

That excuse is now gone. The question is whether the House of Representatives will begin an impeachment investigation, or manufacture a new excuse.

There has never been a principled reason to wait. Even aside from the matters covered by Mueller investigation, there have long been ample independent grounds for an impeachment investigation in parallel with the Mueller probe. For example, since the day he took office, Trump has been lining his pockets with federal taxpayer dollars and unconstitutional payoffs from dubious foreign governments. The Framers specifically named that an impeachable offense. He has repeatedly directed federal agencies to target his political “enemies list.” That was part of the articles of impeachment against President Richard Nixon. And, appearing under the stage name of “Individual-1,” Trump directed his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, to make illegal payments to influence the 2016 election — a federal crime for which Cohen will report to prison in less than two months.

John McCain was completely in on this. And plenty of other Republicans, starting with Paul Ryan, were hoping Trump would be impeached.

Let’s clean up our own house and demand better candidates at all levels, who truly represent not just the Conservative half of the country, but also, sane Centrists (which is what Trump was his whole life), who are as sick of political correctness as Conservatives.

I’ll take a politician who’s in favor of legal 1st trimester abortions, who’s also willing to break the PC speech rules and say things that 70% of Americans think, but are too afraid of the PC police to actually say, over a devout Christian like GW Bush, who cedes the moral high ground to people who hate this country and want to destroy it.

Let’s create a new GOP that represents everyone from working class Blacks in the South who go to church on Sundays, to Rust Belt factory workers, to Liberal leaning, upscale New York Jews who still have enough Jewishness left in them to be appalled by Left wing Antisemitism.

There’s barely a soul under the age of 80 in this country who hasn’t been to a rock concert, or tried weed, or had sex out of wedlock. We can’t expect to get all these people to start going to church, but we can get them to see how the Left is destroying the moral fabric of this country.

I have a good friend who has the typical “religion is for idiots” mentality. I’ve been telling him for years “let’s see what kind of society the atheists and agnostics create...you’re not gonna like it”. He’s now starting to realize I was right. He sees how scary these young ANTIFA types are.

Let’s make our own party better, and then we won’t have to worry about the Democrats.

With each new revelation of impeachable conduct...

What conduct has anyone stated that constitutes impeachable conduct - what high crime or misdemeanor has been alleged?

Wow...these loser leftist libs are now just throwing out their Whopper's without any fries (legitimate sources) to with their plate of carp.

I guess they don't realize, or won't admit, that if there were anything close to this being done by POTUS, Mueller and his cabal would've exposed it, many months ago.

Pound Sand BG.

Political cover. The problem is their hatred is so ingrained now they can't stop. They will have impeachment proceedings.

“Let’s create a new GOP that represents...”

Unfortunately, we don’t have the time. The left are making their move for complete control and power.

We had precious few years to #Build_the_farking_wall(do something about illegals, deport millions, end birthright citizenship, end chain migration, etc) and #Drain_the_farking_swamp(restore the rule of law, hang hundreds on the national mall, 1000’s in prison for life, every hillary voting apparatchik in the fed govt fired, and unions banned)

The only 2 things that needed to be done to save America and prevent the rats from taking control permanently.

Nadler says it because Congress has to protect the rule of law.

Clinton, their man, was found to have perjured himself under oath in a civil court case and the US Senate didn’t vote to convict and Clinton won reelection.

I wish Nadler good luck in his endeavor.

Mueller time is over. Now it’s impeachment time

Now THAT'S a non sequitur. How was there a jump from "no indictment" to "guilty whether charged or not"?

Just outlaw being "Republican" altogether. After all, it used to be illegal to be a Communist, but not any longer.

When journalists (so called) question the legitimate election of any government official let alone the president they are not journalists- they are operatives of enemies foreign and domestic.

Clinton was impeached in later 1998. It had no effect on his re-election in 1996.

I’ve tried to be understanding of those who voted for hiLIARy and how their world was shattered on election day. I’ve stayed calm and listened while they lost all control and screamed “Trump...Russia...Collusion!!!” and insisted that Trump is an idiot and should be impeached. Well, no more. They’ve had plenty of time to get over it. From now on, one word from them and I will ridicule and mock them to their faces.

-- ... No sane person caring about the country could vote democrat --

Aanity has nothing to do with it. Plenty of sane "burn it to the ground" socialst DEMs, see Bernie followers for example.

Similar for "care about the country." Plenty of trans-nationalists who see nationism as akin to genocidal mania. Most of the Federal politicians fit in this category, tho' they won't admit so openly.
