There is no draft, lady.

Uh, we have been at war with North Korea since 1950.
Duh!

She’s a “former” Obama operative who went to work for a cable news outlet. Don’t confuse her with facts.

Well, you just answered a question I had ... did the Korean War ever end? I didn’t think so! It’s been an armistice, right?
But, OTOH, were we at war with “North Korea” ? I don’t think it existed at that time, but was a creation of the armistice.
Sobering thoughts!

No, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (”North Korea”) came about when the peninsula was divided in two after the end of World War II and the withdrawal of occupying Imperial Japanese troops. Kim Il Sung, a Soviet operative, was installed as the leader in the North.

There's no faster path to war than to invite aggression by showing weakness. Trump's assertiveness seems startling only by its relative novelty but it's no more egregious than that of Winston Churchill.
The really astonishing thing here is the unexpected support we're getting from....CHINA!
This whole mess is brought to us courtesy of Bill Clinton's utter and criminal incompetence. If he had confronted the Norks while they were more easily containable we wouldn't be facing a nuclear power; if President Trump fails to deal with them now, next decade we'll be threatened by a North Korea with ICBMs. He won't fail because he takes care of business. That's all he does.

But, OTOH, were we at war with North Korea ? Actually yes.
Korea was divided at the end of WW I
The war began when the North invaded the south in 1950.
Then the UN passed the resolution authorizing a Police Action (a war by any other name is just as bloody).

The really astonishing thing here is the unexpected support we're getting from....CHINA! I think that China is in no mood to see things escalate to where China and the US come to a point where the US uses trade against China as leverage.
Chinas debt is now 300% of GDP. Typically when debt reaches this level the country suffers rampant inflation and economic collapse.

The Chicken Little author is amusing for her hysteria.
To threaten war with such a regime is, to put it bluntly, an act of insanity
Yeah, maybe. Sometimes the best way to keep the peace is to show a crazy person you can be just as crazy as they are.
Crazy Kim may pretend he has nothing to lose but China can't afford that.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
OK, I see it was complicated, but I was right in my impression that it was ended only by an armistice, and that
in October 1950, mass Chinese forces crossed the Yalu and entered the war
... so we are still at war with China, right? They seem to know it, even if we have forgotten.

No those were “volunteers” not Chinese troops, a fiction which keeps China’s hands clean.

Donald Trump is a weakened president, and a man not prone to controlling his impulses. Given his temperament, personality, and looming legal predicament, there is literally no telling what a cornered Donald Trump will say or do. But that is what your side wanted, a weakened Trump administration. Now that you realize there are worse people who want to kill us out there, you don't want what you worked so hard for?
To: 2ndDivisionVet
” doubled down on his apparently extemporaneous threats against the North Korean regime should chill the bones of every military family and every American with a child of draft age.”
Imagine the terror her rhetoric inspires in the low information voter. She implies Trump was making extemporaneous threats of nuclear war. This is the narrative the MSM has been building - they’ve been saying he’s dangerous and now they are setting up justification for craziness/coup talk.

He Removes Us from Earth (Look at who the author is) I doubt that, but I don't mind him removing "you" from Earth.

Something to think about. Maybe Trump should ask COngress to declare war against the Norks. Then people like this can be arrested for Treason.

I have considered that too. Joy Reid and her ideological brethren would find themselves in prison for the duration of hostilities, with their eventual fates determined by military court.
